Professional Journey
Elenjickal trained as a mechanical engineer at the College of Engineering, Guindy, in Chennai, then took a master’s degree in industrial engineering and management science at Northwestern University. He spent the next seven years in enterprise supply chain software at Oracle and at i2 Technologies, later part of JDA Software Group. There he led teams putting logistics strategies and systems into place at P&G, Nestle, Kraft, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Tyco, Argos and Nokia, across North America, Western Europe and Latin America. He later took an MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
He founded FourKites in 2014, after recognising, in the company’s words, pain points in the logistics industry that the systems of the time did not address. SEC records show the company was incorporated in Delaware in 2013 as CloudQwest, Inc. Its first Form D, filed in November 2014, names Elenjickal as its sole executive officer, holding the titles of chief executive, president, secretary and treasurer, and records an initial raise of $640,000. Later filings through 2022 show him as chief executive and director alongside a board of venture investors.
FourKites made its name in real-time shipment visibility: tracking freight across road, rail, ocean and air for shippers and their carriers. Under Elenjickal it has since presented itself as an AI execution platform. It launched Loft in February 2026, an orchestration layer that turns plain-language process descriptions into automated workflows, and in May 2026 Booking Connect for Ocean, which automates ocean freight booking from rate agreements through documentation. “We didn’t build AI features on top of legacy software,” he said at the Loft launch. “We built an AI-native system from the ground up.” The company, which now operates from fourkites.ai, reports more than 1,600 enterprise customers, 246,000 connected carriers and $240M raised, with offices in Chicago, Amsterdam, Munich, Chennai and Singapore.
