The company arranges ocean and air freight, customs brokerage, trade compliance, warehousing, distribution and project cargo from more than 16 offices across the United States, and it has made sustainability a central part of how it sells: it plants a tree for every customer shipment and takes part in collective purchasing of zero-emission ocean freight. Jorgensen came to the business through ocean shipping. He started at Maersk Line in Denmark in 1989, moved to the United States in 1991, and in 1994 set up the US operations of a Scandinavian carrier in Atlanta before founding his own firm.

Professional Journey
Jorgensen studied economics at Aarhus University in Denmark and began his career in shipping with Maersk Line in 1989. Two years later he moved to the United States, arriving through Boston to work for a global freight forwarder.
In 1994 he relocated to Atlanta to start up the US operations of a Scandinavian NVO, a non-vessel operating common carrier that buys space from shipping lines and resells it to shippers. He built that operation and earned a partnership as its President.
He then founded Green Worldwide Shipping, which the company dates to 2008. It remains, in its own words, “a private, wholly owned and independent” logistics firm. Its services have grown from forwarding into customs brokerage, regulatory trade compliance, duty drawback, foreign trade zones, warehousing and distribution, aviation parts logistics and supply chain visibility. The name reflects the positioning. The company sets out its values in “The Green Way”, and Jorgensen describes them there as “focusing on the customer, people, and sustainability.” In practice this has meant customer-facing environmental programmes: a tree planted for each shipment, and membership of the Zero-Emission Maritime Buyers’ Alliance. In April 2024 Green announced that it had joined Amazon, Patagonia, Nike, Meta and other members in the alliance’s first collective tender for zero-emission ocean shipping on the Singapore–Rotterdam route, which was awarded to Hapag-Lloyd.
He puts equal weight on the company’s culture, which it codifies as 34 “Fundamentals”. Announcing the company’s fourth consecutive Great Place to Work certification in August 2026, he said: “We are a people business, and this achievement proves it.” In September 2026 the company was recognised as a Business Friend of the Environment by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and WM.
