Executive Summary
Vincent Trama is Chief Revenue Officer of Presidio, one of the larger independent technology services and solutions providers in the United States. Presidio sits between enterprise customers and the vendors they buy from — Amazon, Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, Palo Alto Networks, Google, NVIDIA and others — designing, building, securing and then operating the infrastructure, cloud environments, data platforms and security programmes those customers run on. Trama joined in 2012 and worked up through sales leadership to the company’s top revenue role, where Presidio describes him as leading a hands-on sales team focused on solving complex business problems through digital solutions. His earlier career was in enterprise networking and communications sales: Vice President of Sales at BlueWater Communication Group, and before that Director of Northeast Sales at Visual Networks.

Professional Journey
Trama built his career in enterprise networking and communications sales, a market where the product is rarely the point — the buyer wants a working network, not a box. He was Director of Northeast Sales at Visual Networks, the network performance management company, and then Vice President of Sales at BlueWater Communication Group.
That BlueWater role is worth pausing on. Presidio’s own biography of its chief executive records that Bob Cagnazzi founded and ran BlueWater Communications from 2006 until Presidio acquired it, and that Cagnazzi joined Presidio in 2012 — the same year Presidio’s biography of Trama says he joined. Presidio does not spell out the connection, but the likeliest reading is that Trama came in with the BlueWater business rather than as a separate hire, and has therefore worked alongside Cagnazzi for the whole of the period since.
At Presidio he held a sequence of leadership roles driving new business and working with customers to fit solutions to changing requirements, before becoming Chief Revenue Officer. The company he sells for has changed hands twice underneath him without changing direction: BC Partners bought Presidio in 2019, delisting it from the Nasdaq in a $2.1 billion all-cash take-private, and in April 2024 Clayton Dubilier & Rice agreed to take a majority position from BC Partners, which kept a minority stake. Cagnazzi’s public framing of the CD&R deal was continuity — the same leadership team, the same strategy, with a new investment partner brought in for operating expertise.
The commercial mix Trama sells across has widened well past networking. Presidio now organises itself around consulting and advisory work, build-and-modernise services covering AI infrastructure, cloud, data platforms and application modernisation, a secure-and-operate practice spanning cybersecurity, managed services and a security operations centre, workplace and collaboration technology, and a procurement and lifecycle arm handling global sourcing and IT logistics. That range is what a revenue leader at a modern integrator has to carry: not one product line, but a portfolio deep enough that the same customer can be sold to repeatedly as its problems change.
