Executive Summary

Adnan Chaudhry is Chief Revenue Officer of Ping Identity, the identity-security company founded by Andre Durand and taken private by Thoma Bravo in 2022. Ping sells the infrastructure that decides who — or increasingly what — is allowed through the door of an enterprise system, a category whose stakes have risen sharply as autonomous software agents begin acting on people’s behalf. Chaudhry was appointed in January 2026 and holds an unusually consolidated remit: sales, marketing, solutions engineering, channels and revenue operations all report to him, rather than being split between a CRO and a CMO. He arrived with more than two decades of enterprise go-to-market experience built at Slack, Salesforce, Oracle and Opower, including running the integration of Slack’s sales organisation into Salesforce after that acquisition.

Career Highlights

  • Named Chief Revenue Officer of Ping Identity on 6 January 2026, taking charge of the full global go-to-market organisation: sales, marketing, solutions engineering, channels and revenue operations.
  • Sits on an eight-person executive team reporting to founder and CEO Andre Durand, alongside the CFO, Chief Product Officer, Chief Development Officer, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Legal Officer.
  • Served as Executive Vice President at Slack, responsible for global go-to-market strategy and for the post-merger integration of Slack’s sales and solutions-engineering teams into Salesforce — one of the largest software acquisitions of its era.
  • As Senior Vice President of Salesforce’s Gen Commercial Business Unit, drove growth across strategic and enterprise accounts.
  • Held the role of Group Vice President, Global Sales at Oracle, which he reached through Oracle’s 2016 acquisition of Opower, where he had led sales for cloud-based energy software sold to utilities.
  • Frames the identity market around AI: on appointment he argued that as AI transforms how businesses operate and how digital interactions take place, trusted identity becomes essential not only for security but for confidence, scale and innovation.

Professional Journey

Chaudhry’s career has run through a sequence of enterprise software companies that were themselves being acquired, and his value has consistently been in what happens to a revenue organisation afterwards. At Opower he sold cloud-based energy information software and services into the utility sector; when Oracle acquired the company in 2016 he moved across and went on to serve as Group Vice President of Global Sales there.

He then spent an extended period inside the Salesforce orbit. As Senior Vice President of the Gen Commercial Business Unit he was responsible for growth across strategic and enterprise accounts. After Salesforce acquired Slack, he served as Executive Vice President at Slack, owning global go-to-market strategy and leading the post-merger integration of Slack’s sales and solutions-engineering teams into the parent company’s structure — the difficult, unglamorous part of an acquisition, and the part that determines whether the purchase price was justified.

Ping Identity recruited him in January 2026. The company had been public on the NYSE as PING before Thoma Bravo took it private in 2022, and a private-equity owner typically expects a revenue chief to own the whole commercial motion rather than a slice of it; Ping’s announcement duly placed sales, marketing, solutions engineering, channels and revenue operations under him. As of September 2026 Ping’s own leadership page still lists him in the role.
