Professional Journey
Antill joined Foundation Software in 1999 while studying marketing at the University of Akron. The company, founded by Fred Ode in 1985, builds job cost accounting software for specialty contractors, and Antill learned the product from the ground up as a client support representative and field trainer before moving into sales.
He became one of the company’s first regional sales managers and launched its West Coast operation from California, running that office for more than nine years. According to the company, the region became one of its largest. He returned to headquarters in 2011 as director of sales.
In December 2017 Foundation announced his appointment as vice president of business development. He kept the director of sales role and took on strategic market planning and new business development for both Foundation and its sister company Payroll4Construction. In the announcement, Fred Ode, then CEO, said Antill would help “form the bridge to the future of our company” and mentor the next generation of leaders.
Thoma Bravo agreed to acquire Foundation Software in August 2020 and completed the deal on 31 August 2020, with Mike Ode as CEO. By February 2021 the company was calling Antill its chief revenue officer. Acquisitions followed. The McCormick Systems deal took Foundation into estimating and digital takeoff for electrical and mechanical contractors, and Antill said at the time that “we’ve never stepped into estimating before.” Estimating Edge was added in January 2022, followed by AboutTime Technologies, Vendrix and the safety software provider Harness, which was relaunched as SafetyHQ.
His current biography describes a role that combines revenue leadership with M&A. It also puts much of his time into relationships with technology partners, accounting firms, associations and contractors, and into connecting the company’s sales, marketing and product teams. The company credits him with leading more than 1,000 software selections and implementations and attending more than 300 industry conferences.
Education
Foundation Software says he joined the company in 1999 while studying marketing at the University of Akron. No source states that he completed a degree, so none is recorded.
