Executive Summary
Sean Taylor is co-founder and Global CEO of Content Guru, the Bracknell, Berkshire company whose storm and brain platforms supply cloud contact-centre and AI-driven customer experience services to large enterprises and public bodies, among them AXA, Allianz, Rakuten, the NHS and the US federal government. He is also Chairman and CEO of Redwood Technologies Group, the company he co-founded in the 1990s which owns Content Guru. An engineer by training, he started Content Guru in 2005 on the bet that contact-centre technology would move off customer premises and into the cloud, and has led it since. Alongside the business he holds a long-standing civic role in Berkshire: he has been a Deputy Lieutenant of the county since 2018 and served as its High Sheriff for 2025/26.

Professional Journey
Taylor grew up and studied in Berkshire and took an honours degree in electronics and computer science at King’s College, University of London. He began his career in computer telephony, in the engineering team of Rhetorex Inc., working first in the UK and then at its offices in California. Rhetorex was one of the early companies joining telephone systems to computers, and was later acquired by Lucent.
He returned to Berkshire and co-founded Redwood Technologies, the company that would become the group’s parent; Companies House records Redwood Technologies Limited as incorporated in May 1993, with Taylor as a director. Redwood in turn funded the establishment of Content Guru, which was incorporated in December 2005. The premise was that contact-centre technology, then installed on the customer’s own premises, was ripe to move into the cloud, and Content Guru’s storm platform became one of the early customer experience platforms to do so. In a 2021 interview with Comms Dealer he said the company had been started with $25,000.
Content Guru has since grown into a group with offices across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Its customers include AXA, Allianz, Aioi, Rakuten, the NHS and the US federal government, and its product line now pairs the storm CX platform for omnichannel communications and journey orchestration with brain, an AI layer for conversational interfaces, agent assistance and real-time transcription. As Global CEO, Taylor is responsible for strategic direction at both the technical and commercial levels, including product design and go-to-market partnerships. Recent expansion has included a Sydney office and in-country Australian data infrastructure, announced in August 2026, and a partnership with SOGEDES in Germany.
His civic work in Berkshire runs in parallel. He was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for the county in January 2018, and in April 2025 became High Sheriff of the Royal County of Berkshire, a one-year office. He handed over to his successor in March 2026. He is also connected to Berkshire Community Foundation, where Content Guru lists him as a trustee and the county Lieutenancy lists him as Vice President and Vice Chair.
