Professional Journey

Acharya took a bachelor’s degree in computer science at Chaudhary Charan Singh University and later a certificate in business administration and management at Ryerson University, now Toronto Metropolitan University. He began in quality assurance roles at IBM and Hudson’s Bay Company, then moved into physical logistics as a warehouse design consultant at Canadian Tire — a shift from software testing into the design of the facilities themselves that gave him an unusual combination of technical and operational grounding.

He joined GENCO, by then a FedEx company, as a Program Manager in 2012, and in 2013 became Director of Information Technology at Eleven Points Logistics, where he led technology operations for the warehouse distribution network supporting Target’s Canadian operation. That business is a well-known case study in distribution failure, and running technology for the warehouse network behind it is the sort of experience that teaches more than a successful deployment would.

From 2015 to 2019 he was a Supply Chain Product Executive at FedEx Supply Chain, responsible for product strategy and the development of a modern technology platform spanning multiple supply chain and e-commerce products. Building product inside a company of that scale meant confronting the gap between what enterprise logistics systems do and what e-commerce actually requires — the packaged warehouse management systems in wide use were designed for pallets moving to stores, not for single items shipped to consumers with next-day promises and high return rates.

He co-founded Fulfillment IQ in 2019 to work that gap from the outside. The firm operates as a product studio as much as a consultancy, building bespoke fulfilment technology for 3PLs, brands and retailers and partnering with platforms including Deposco. Acharya co-hosts the eCom Logistics Podcast, spoke at Shoptalk Fall 2025, and was named to Supply Chain and Demand Executive’s Pros to Know list in 2023.
