Executive Summary
Michael Restivo — who goes by Mike in Bullhorn’s own materials — is Chief Revenue Officer of Bullhorn, the Boston company whose CRM and applicant tracking software underpins the staffing and recruitment industry. His tenure is unusually long: he was one of the first fifteen people at the company and has spent his career there, including six years in London building its international business from nothing. He now carries responsibility for global revenue across a business of more than 1,400 employees and over 10,000 customers.

- Has supplied cloud-based recruitment technology to consultancies in more than 50 countries.
- Held the Chief Revenue Officer title by February 2019, when Bullhorn announced he would lead a panel of enterprise staffing leaders on artificial intelligence and the future of work at Staffing Industry Analysts’ Executive Forum North America in Austin.
- Holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Babson College.
Professional Journey
Restivo joined Bullhorn early enough to be one of the company’s first fifteen employees, at a point when it was a Boston software startup serving recruitment agencies rather than the global platform it later became. That timing shaped the rest of his career: rather than moving between employers, he moved between the company’s problems.
The largest of those was international expansion. In 2010 he relocated to London to start up Bullhorn’s International team — not to run an existing division but to build one. Over six years based there he drove the company’s entry into the Netherlands, Germany, Singapore and Australia, taking a US staffing-software product into markets with different labour regulation, different agency economics and different competitors in each. By the company’s account he has since supplied its cloud-based systems to recruitment consultancies in more than fifty countries.
He returned to a global commercial remit as Chief Revenue Officer, a title he held by early 2019, when Bullhorn put him forward to chair a panel at Staffing Industry Analysts’ Executive Forum on how artificial intelligence would change recruitment work — arguing, in the framing Bullhorn used, that the value of the technology lay in unlocking rather than replacing the people using it. He remains in the role today under founder and chief executive Art Papas, at a company that describes itself as founder-led and profitable and is backed by Stone Point Capital, Insight Partners and Genstar Capital.
