Executive Summary
Michael Ferrari is Chief Revenue Officer for US Institutional and Consulting at Guidepoint, the New York-based expert network that connects investors, corporations and consultancies with subject-matter experts across some 150 industries. He runs the business development teams serving the institutional investor and consulting client segments. His tenure at the firm is unusually long: he joined in March 2004, when the company was still operating under its original name, Clinical Advisors, and has stayed through its 2007 rebrand to Guidepoint Global and its growth into one of the largest expert networks in the world. He came to it from the life-sciences venture world, having been a founding member of an anti-infective biopharmaceutical venture and, before that, Vice President of Business Development at a publicly held medical-technology venture capital company.

Professional Journey
Ferrari graduated from Villanova University with a degree in biology in 1997 and started at Aetna U.S. Healthcare as an account executive. Within a year he had moved into technology commercialisation, joining Corporate Technology Development, Inc. as Manager of Business Development in September 1998 and staying until January 2001. He then spent two years as Vice President of Business Development at Atlantic Technology Ventures, Inc., a publicly held venture capital company focused on early-stage medical technologies, followed by a short stint as a private equity associate at Maxim Group, LLC.
Alongside that work he was involved from the start in a biopharmaceutical venture: he has been a member of Pathogenic, LLC since its creation in November 2002, and in February 2005 became Vice President and a Director of Pathogenics, Inc., the SEC-reporting parent developing anti-infective compounds. He moved to a consulting basis with Pathogenics from January 2006.
In March 2004 he joined Clinical Advisors, LLC as head of operations, sales and project management. Clinical Advisors had been founded in 2003 by Albert Sebag to match cancer patients with suitable clinical trials; as it widened its expert network beyond oncology and then beyond healthcare entirely, it renamed itself Guidepoint Global in 2007 and later simply Guidepoint. Ferrari therefore has effectively the whole arc of the company behind him, and Guidepoint’s own bio describes him as a veteran of the firm since 2004.
He now holds the Chief Revenue Officer title for the US Institutional and Consulting business, running business development for the segments that include institutional investors and consulting firms. Guidepoint remains privately held; it has continued to expand by acquisition, buying the expert network Vista Research from Standard & Poor’s in 2009 and the German firm Innosquared more recently.
