Executive Summary

Babak M. Mirzaie is co-founder and chief executive of Expivi, an Eindhoven company that sells 3D product configuration and augmented reality software. He started Expivi in 2017 with Siamak M. Mirzaie, now its CTO, and Jur Rademakers. It has since grown from a Dutch start-up into a company with teams in the United States, Spain and Germany. Professional Journey

Mirzaie’s route into e-commerce software began in games. Before Expivi he co-founded Golabi Studio, a gaming studio. Siamak M. Mirzaie, who became Expivi’s CTO, also co-founded Golabi and was its tech lead there.

Expivi was founded in 2017 in Eindhoven by Mirzaie, Siamak M. Mirzaie and Jur Rademakers, an internet entrepreneur. Its platform lets a retailer or manufacturer put an interactive 3D model of a configurable product on its website. The customer changes options and sees the result, can view it in augmented reality, and then orders through the e-commerce platform. Expivi presents this as a way for brands to offer more choice while producing to order rather than to stock. Its product range also includes design-to-print and visual CPQ (configure, price, quote) tools aimed at manufacturers with complex sales.

Under Mirzaie as chief executive, Expivi set up a team in Salt Lake City in 2020. In 2022 it added teams in Alicante, Spain and Munich, Germany. The company reports more than 40 employees across those locations.
