Executive Summary

Adam Trenkle is Chief Revenue Officer of Momentive Software, the St. Petersburg, Florida company that supplies cloud software, services and payment systems to nonprofits and membership associations under brands including GiveSmart, MemberClicks, Wild Apricot, NimbleAMS and MIP Accounting. He was appointed on 1 December 2025 and owns the full revenue function, with a brief to accelerate growth and improve client acquisition, retention and expansion. He is a mechanical engineer by training.

Professional Journey

Trenkle trained as a mechanical engineer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and his career has stayed close to the software that engineers use. Sixteen of his twenty years were spent at Ansys, the simulation software company, where he moved through a series of senior leadership roles and ultimately held Vice President of Sales for the Americas, Europe and the Middle East — a three-region commercial remit in a business that sells highly technical products to sophisticated industrial buyers. Ansys has since been acquired by Synopsys, and Momentive’s announcement describes it as “Ansys, part of Synopsys” for that reason; the ownership change postdates most of his tenure there.

From Ansys he moved to Cadence Design Systems, the electronic design automation company, as Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Field Sales. It was a step from multi-region to global field leadership, again in a deeply technical selling environment.

Momentive Software announced his appointment on 1 December 2025. The move takes him from engineering software into an entirely different customer base — nonprofits, associations and other mission-driven organisations — and the company’s pitch to him appears to have been about impact as much as scale. “From my first interactions with the leadership team, it was clear that this is a company with deep commitment to empowering purpose-driven organizations to maximize their missions,” he said on joining. Momentive Software describes itself as supporting more than 37,000 organisations across more than thirty countries, underpinning over $14 billion raised and 287 million members served annually; those are the company’s own figures and have not been independently verified here. He joined under interim chief executive Dustin Radtke; the company is now led by chief executive Ravi Venkatesan, with Radtke serving as Chief AI Officer.

Momentive Software’s announcement also records that he “was part of the Executive Leadership Program at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business”. That is an executive education programme rather than a degree, and it is noted here rather than listed above.
