Pichai earned a Bachelor of Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, a Master of Science at Stanford University and an MBA at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

He joined Google in 2004 and led product and engineering across its products and platforms, including Search, Chrome, Maps, Android, Gmail and Google Workspace. In March 2013 he became Senior Vice President of Android, Chrome and Apps, and in October 2014 Senior Vice President of Products.

In the second quarter of 2026 Alphabet’s revenues grew 24 percent year over year. Pichai said Google Cloud revenues were “accelerating to 82% growth, driven by demand for AI infrastructure and AI solutions”, and that nearly 90 percent of the Fortune 100 were using Gemini Enterprise.
