Executive Summary

Adam Famularo is Chief Executive Officer of WorkFusion, which builds AI agents that take on level-1 analyst work in bank financial crime compliance: sanctions screening, adverse media monitoring, KYC and transaction monitoring. He joined in 2021, when WorkFusion described itself as a provider of industry-specialized intelligent automation software. It now presents itself as a financial crime compliance company, and in February 2026 UiPath acquired it. He stayed on as CEO of what is now “WorkFusion, a UiPath company.” Before WorkFusion he co-founded and ran erwin, Inc. through its sale to Quest Software. In February 2026 he also joined the board of Nasdaq-listed MVB Financial.

Career Highlights

  • CEO of WorkFusion since 2021, as stated in MVB Financial’s SEC filings. The company announced his appointment on September 29, 2021.
  • Led WorkFusion into UiPath’s ownership. UiPath announced the acquisition on February 6, 2026, and it closed in UiPath’s first fiscal quarter of 2027.
  • Co-founded erwin, Inc. with Parallax Capital Partners and led it as CEO. WorkFusion says erwin doubled revenue over four years and was a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader for Metadata Management Solutions two years in a row. Quest Software acquired it.
  • Led Verizon’s worldwide enterprise partner organization.
  • Senior Vice President and General Manager of CA Technologies’ Cloud Computing and Storage & Data Management business units.
  • Director of MVB Financial Corp. from February 17, 2026. Shareholders elected him in May 2026, and he chairs the Finance Committee.

Professional Journey

Famularo holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oneonta and a master’s degree from Dowling College. His early senior roles were in large-company enterprise technology. At CA Technologies he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Cloud Computing business unit and of the Storage & Data Management business unit. At Verizon he ran the enterprise partner organization worldwide.

He then went into private-equity-backed software. With Parallax Capital Partners he co-founded erwin, Inc., the data modelling and data governance company, and served as its CEO. When WorkFusion hired him, it said erwin had doubled revenue over four years under his leadership, raised its net promoter score to 65 and been named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Metadata Management Solutions two years running. Quest Software acquired erwin.

WorkFusion named him CEO in September 2021. It had just completed $220 million in primary and secondary transactions, and Georgian’s Justin LaFayette, a board member, described him as a leader with a record of “delivering returns for shareholders and investors.” WorkFusion was then an intelligent document processing and RPA vendor with large financial services and insurance customers, including Deutsche Bank, Scotiabank, Bank of Montreal and Chubb. WorkFusion now describes itself as a financial crime compliance company. It sells named AI agents that do level-1 analyst work, with names like “Evelyn” for name screening and “Tara” for transaction screening, and it says it launched its first AI agents in 2022.

That focus led to the sale. On February 6, 2026, UiPath announced it had acquired WorkFusion to add financial crime compliance agents to its agentic automation platform for banks. “Joining UiPath is a moment of validation for the years our team has poured into creating something bold, different, and deeply needed in financial crime compliance,” Famularo said. He has stayed as CEO. He was quoted in that role in March 2026, when WorkFusion’s transaction screening agent won a FinTech Breakthrough award, and again in April 2026, when Everest Group ranked WorkFusion fifth among its top 50 financial crime and compliance technology providers.

In the same month as the UiPath announcement, MVB Financial Corp., the West Virginia bank holding company with a large fintech banking business, appointed him to its board. Its proxy lists him, at 50, among the directors, and he chairs the Finance Committee, which oversees the company’s fintech equity investments. Shareholders elected him at the May 19, 2026 annual meeting. The proxy also lists him as a director of Lucidworks, DQ Labs, Inc. and First Due Size-Up, and as a member of the National Advisory Council of DonorsChoose.org.
