Professional Journey
FloWorks is a platform assembled from long-established regional distributors. Its history page traces its earliest portfolio company to 1961, and its legacy brands include Sunbelt Supply, SemiTorr Group, Oliver Equipment Company, Flotech, Triple S, Genesis and netMercury. The business serves chemicals, refining, power generation, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, data centers and other industrial markets. Its customers are mostly buying for maintenance, repair and operations, where technical knowledge and speed matter more than list price.
By mid-2022 Jackson was President and CEO of FloWorks, then backed by Clearlake Capital. That June he announced the acquisition of netMercury, a distributor of critical parts and services to semiconductor fabrication, describing it as part of the company’s organic and M&A-driven growth strategy. Flotech followed in August.
In January 2023 Wynnchurch Capital acquired majority ownership of FloWorks from Clearlake, which kept a minority stake. Jackson said at the time that FloWorks had built a strong reputation for specialty flow control solutions used in critical applications. Under Wynnchurch the acquisition pace picked up: Simtech Industrial Products in December 2023, AWC’s Process Solutions Division in Canada in February 2024, Assured Automation in August 2024, then Applied Controls, CAC Industrial Equipment and Slater Controls, and Cranford Equipment Company in December 2025, which FloWorks described as its seventh acquisition under Wynnchurch ownership.
In July 2026 Ferguson, North America’s largest value-added distributor of water and air solutions, agreed to buy FloWorks from Wynnchurch for about $1.6 billion, roughly ten times adjusted EBITDA including expected synergies. Jackson said the deal ensured the company’s 65-year legacy would continue with a partner committed to customer service and operational excellence. The transaction closed on 31 August 2026. Speaking as CEO of FloWorks at the closing, he said joining Ferguson would help FloWorks serve customers more efficiently while keeping the technical expertise and relationships it was known for.
