Sashi Narahari
Founder, President & CEO · HighRadius
Sashi Narahari founded HighRadius in Houston and runs it as president and chief executive. The company automates the unglamorous machinery of corporate cash — receivables, collections, deductions, cash application, treasury and financial close — for more than 1,300 companies, and has extended into a wider platform for the office of the CFO. He bootstrapped it for around a decade before taking outside capital, then raised $300 million at a $3.1 billion valuation in 2021. He is a mechanical engineer by training, from IIT Madras and the University of Maryland, and was chief executive of the master-data-management company Riversand Technologies before this.

Executive Summary
Sashi Narahari founded HighRadius and leads it as president and chief executive from Houston. The company automates the part of corporate finance that nobody puts on a conference stage: getting invoices paid. Its software handles credit, collections, cash application, deductions and disputes on the receivables side, and has extended over time into accounts payable, B2B payments, financial consolidation and reporting, close and reconciliation, and treasury and risk — a platform for the whole office of the CFO rather than a point tool. More than 1,300 companies use it. The distinctive fact about the business is how it was built: Narahari bootstrapped it for roughly a decade, taking no institutional money until 2017, and only then raised quickly, reaching a $3.1 billion valuation in 2021. He is a mechanical engineer by training and ran a master-data-management company before this one.

Professional Journey
Narahari trained as a mechanical engineer — a bachelor’s degree at IIT Madras, then a master’s at the University of Maryland, College Park — and moved into enterprise software rather than into engineering. His early work is described as implementing credit management, collections, dispute management and invoicing systems for Fortune 1000 companies, the kind of consulting that puts a person inside the accounts-receivable function of many large organisations in succession. He is reported to have worked as an SAP and ERP consultant in that period, which is the account given for how he came to see the gap that became HighRadius; I could not reach the interview that claim originates in, so it is recorded as reported.
Before founding HighRadius he was chief executive officer of Riversand Technologies, the Houston master data management company. Master data management is a discipline concerned with making one authoritative record out of the many partial records an enterprise holds about a customer, a product or a supplier — which is, in a different guise, the same problem that makes receivables hard.
HighRadius was founded around 2006. Its premise was that the office of the CFO ran on manual matching: a payment arrives without a remittance advice, a customer short-pays an invoice for a reason nobody has recorded, a collections team works a list by intuition. These are pattern-recognition problems, and the company built machine learning into each of them — cash application, deduction coding, collections prioritisation, credit scoring.
Narahari ran it without institutional capital for roughly a decade, which shaped it. When outside money did arrive, the company was already large: a growth round from Susquehanna Growth Equity, then ICONIQ, and on 30 March 2021 a $300 million Series C led by D1 Capital Partners and Tiger Global that valued it at $3.1 billion. The round drew personal cheques from a notable group of operators — Snowflake’s Frank Slootman and Michael Scarpelli, Procore’s Tooey Courtemanche, Airtable’s Howie Liu. Narahari’s stated ambition at the time was unusually conservative in framing for a round of that size: “Our goal has always been to build a long-lasting business that outlasts all of us.”
Two weeks later the company reported 47% year-on-year ARR growth, more than 600 customers with over 200 from the Forbes Global 2000, $2.23 trillion of receivables processed annually and more than 2,500 employees across six offices. Since then it has broadened from order-to-cash into the full CFO stack and layered generative AI on top, with FreedaGPT as an assistant and LiveCube as a no-code analysis surface. Narahari remains president and chief executive.
