Professional Journey

Feldman studied at Stanford University, earning a BA in Economics and Political Science and later an MBA. His early career was in networking hardware. From 2000 to 2003 he was Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Corporate Development at Riverstone Networks, and from 2003 to 2006 Vice President, Marketing and Product Management at Force10 Networks, later acquired by Dell.

In November 2007 he became CEO of SeaMicro. SeaMicro built dense servers from large numbers of small, low-power processors, an early answer to the energy cost of data-centre computing. AMD acquired the company in 2012, and Feldman stayed at AMD as a Corporate Vice President and General Manager until June 2014.

Cerebras followed. In 2015 Feldman and his co-founders, who include Sean Lie, Jean-Philippe Fricker and Michael James, concluded that AI was a new kind of workload that general-purpose processors would not serve well, and that it would call for purpose-built silicon as PCs, graphics and mobile each had. The company was incorporated in April 2016, with Feldman as CEO and President. Its answer was the Wafer-Scale Engine: a single processor the size of a whole wafer, now in its third generation, with four trillion transistors and 900,000 cores, built to keep an entire AI workload on one piece of silicon.

The business has since moved decisively toward inference, running AI models quickly for customers through its own cloud. Cerebras filed for its IPO in April 2026 and listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market in May, with a dual-class structure under which the founders’ and other Class B holders retain most voting power. In its first results as a public company, for the second quarter of 2026, it reported GAAP revenue of $180.1 million, cloud revenue up 281%, 600 megawatts of data centre capacity under contract and partnerships with OpenAI, AWS, AMD and CrowdStrike. Feldman remains Chief Executive Officer and President and sits on the board.
