Professional Journey

Ippon Technologies was established in 2002 as a Paris-based consulting and technology expertise firm. In March 2014 it opened its first US office, in Richmond, Virginia, and Lhéritier wrote the company’s announcements of the move: a 3,500-square-foot loft office at the Power Plant at Lucky Strike on East Cary Street in Shockoe Bottom which, along with a New York presence, marked “the Paris-based company’s entrée into the U.S.” A few months later he wrote about what Ippon USA had achieved in its first three months, and he continued to write for the company blog about the open-source developer community, including Spring and JHipster events.

By 2017 he was Managing Director of Ippon USA. Explaining the choice of Richmond to the Greater Richmond Partnership that year, he said Virginia was business-friendly from a tax standpoint and that, with the company’s target market on the East Coast, “when you look at Richmond on the map, it’s pretty central.” He described hiring above all for people who are “intellectually curious and wanting to learn.”

He now leads the business as CEO of Ippon Technologies USA. In September 2025 it announced the AWS Financial Services Competency. “Earning the AWS Financial Services Competency is a significant milestone for Ippon Technologies USA, marking our fifth AWS Competency and highlighting our team’s expertise in delivering tailored cloud solutions for the financial sector,” he said.

Outside work he runs marathons and has competed in triathlons.
