Professional Journey

Gotfryd came to Capchase from technology investing and then Harvard Business School, where he met Miguel Fernandez. Fernandez, Luis Basagoiti and Guli Moreno had worked together at a software company. The company’s account of its founding is that the two pairs had seen the same problem from different positions. Enterprise technology deals stalled because vendors wanted to be paid immediately and buyers wanted to pay as late as possible, and neither side wanted to be the lender. The four founded Capchase in New York in 2020 to close that gap.

At first the company offered revenue-based financing to SaaS companies, advancing future subscription revenue as non-dilutive capital. It raised a $125M Series A in 2021 and expanded across the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain. From late 2022 it moved towards vendor financing. It now works inside the sales process of software vendors, equipment makers and cybersecurity providers, turning a large upfront purchase into monthly payments for the buyer while the vendor is paid in full at signing. By 2026 it had dropped revenue-based financing altogether.

In October 2023 Endeavor Poland selected Gotfryd for its network of high-impact entrepreneurs, which offers mentorship and access to peers. In May 2026 Capchase announced $200 million in new funding, $26 million of equity and a $174 million credit facility, led by 01 Advisors, with Fernandez as chief executive and Gotfryd named as co-founder. The company, based in New York with offices in San Francisco and Madrid, is backed by QED, Invesco, Thomvest and 01 Advisors.
