Executive Summary
Philippe Salah is Chief Executive Officer of DentalMonitoring, the Paris company that built one of the first platforms for monitoring orthodontic and dental treatment remotely: patients photograph their teeth with a smartphone and the company’s AI flags the clinical situations that need a practitioner’s attention. His stated aim is for dentists and orthodontists to “automate and virtualize everything outside of the clinical side of care.” Under his leadership the company reported operational profitability in 2025 and, in February 2026, announced a $100M investment led by Lazard Elaia Capital.

Professional Journey
DentalMonitoring was founded in 2014, in its own words, by a team of industry professionals who left other companies to pursue the idea that AI could take over the routine surveillance of dental treatment. Its platform, protected by what began as more than 80 patents, was the first to offer remote monitoring of orthodontic treatment, later adding the DM ScanBox device and app. Salah leads the company as Chief Executive.
The business has expanded well beyond its Paris base, with offices in Austin, London, Sydney and Hong Kong. It completed a third funding round of €45 million backed by Vitruvian Partners, launched Vision, a smile and appliance simulator built from images of the patient’s own teeth, and acquired Loum, a digital assistant for patients and healthcare professionals. In 2024 it received FDA De Novo approval and EU-MDR certification.
In February 2026 DentalMonitoring announced a $100M investment led by Lazard Elaia Capital, alongside ISALT, to fund growth in its core markets of Europe, the United States, Australia and Japan, entry into Brazil, Turkey, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and further AI research. The company said it had reached operational profitability in 2025 and now counts more than 2 million patients and a library of 2 billion images. Announcing the round, Salah said Lazard Elaia brought “both capitals, a strong network, and strategic expertise in building category-leading health tech companies.”
He speaks about the product in terms of triage. “The problem for an orthodontist is not that a problem happened. The problem is discovering it too late,” he said on the Orthopreneurs podcast in June 2026. “We are a triage service. We tell you: focus on the bad and spend less time on the good.” In 2023 he received a Baldrige Foundation Excellence in Leadership Award in the health care sector, accepting it, he said, “in tandem with my team at DentalMonitoring.”
