His career has been spent running large consumer health businesses: he led The Bountiful Company, formerly The Nature’s Bounty Co., from 2017 until its sale to Nestle in 2021, ran Pfizer’s global consumer healthcare division from 2009 to 2014, and before that headed Johnson & Johnson’s North American consumer health business.

  • Appointed Executive Chairman of INW’s board in June 2023, alongside the appointment of former 3M executive Ray Eby as CEO.
  • President and Chief Executive Officer of The Bountiful Company from September 2017, partnering with an investor to carve out and rebrand the Nature’s Bounty branded portfolio; the company was sold to Nestle in August 2021.
  • Global President of Pfizer’s Consumer Healthcare business from January 2009 to September 2014, following Pfizer’s acquisition of Wyeth.

Professional Journey

Sturman studied at Bucknell University, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology and an MBA. He started out at Warner-Lambert, holding a series of marketing, brand and sales management roles.

He moved to Johnson & Johnson as President, North America of its Consumer Health Care business in January 2007. Two years later, in January 2009, he joined Pfizer, which was then completing its acquisition of Wyeth. He ran Pfizer’s Global Consumer Healthcare division until September 2014. In SEC filings the division is described as one of the largest over-the-counter healthcare products companies in the world.

From January 2015 to July 2016 he was President and CEO of NJOY, Inc. NJOY filed for Chapter 11 in September 2016, two months after he left. The Bountiful Company’s 2021 S-1 attributes the filing to losses from a product NJOY released in 2013.

In September 2017 he became President and Chief Executive Officer of The Nature’s Bounty Co. Working with a private equity investor, he led the acquisition and carve-out of its branded product portfolio, which was renamed The Bountiful Company. The company filed to go public in April 2021, but Nestle bought it in August 2021. During this period he also joined the board of Tyme Technologies in March 2017. He was a trustee of the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center from 2012 to 2017, and has sat on advisory boards at Bucknell’s Freeman College of Management and at the Johns Hopkins Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. When INW announced his appointment in 2023, he was an Executive Advisor with KKR.

INW had been assembled from a series of acquisitions: Dallas One Solutions, ProForm Laboratories, Phoenix Formulations, Living Ecology and, in 2021, Capstone Nutrition in Ogden, Utah, plus Bee Health in the UK. A Cornell Capital-led investor group bought the company in March 2021. Sturman joined as Executive Chairman in June 2023, when Ray Eby, previously President of 3M’s Personal Safety Division, became CEO. By May 2025 INW’s own announcements named Sturman as CEO.
