Executive Summary
Paul Humphrey is Chief Executive Officer of BMLL Technologies. The London company engineers and sells harmonised historical order-book data (Level 3, 2 and 1) and analytics to banks, brokers, asset managers, hedge funds, exchanges, regulators and academics. He joined in January 2020 to scale the business globally, and in October 2025 he led it through its acquisition by the private equity firm Nordic Capital. He came to the job from the other side of the market-data relationship: he had spent roughly three decades running trading and information businesses at exchanges, inter-dealer brokers and banks, including Euronext, Tullett Prebon, ABN Amro and ICAP.

Professional Journey
Humphrey built his career in fixed income and electronic trading. He was Managing Director of European Fixed Income at ICAP, led fixed-income sales and eCommerce at SLK/Goldman Sachs, and was head of fixed income at Van der Moolen. He then became Global Head of eCommerce at ABN Amro, and later Chief Executive Officer of Electronic Broking & Information at Tullett Prebon. In that role BMLL says he set the group’s strategy for electronic broking, application development and information sales.
At Euronext he was Global Head of FICC at Euronext NV, responsible for strategy across fixed income, rates, foreign exchange and commodities, and he served as interim Chief Executive Officer of Euronext London. In 2019 he set up Humphrey House Advisors, a consultancy advising financial institutions, boards and fintech firms on corporate strategy.
BMLL appointed him Chief Executive Officer in January 2020. His predecessor, Johannes Sulzberger, moved to the board as a non-executive director. The appointment came alongside a USD 25 million funding round from investors including Oceanwood, IQ Capital and Angel CoFund, and the launch of Platometrics, a market-quality metrics tool giving a consolidated view of European liquidity. Humphrey’s brief was to scale the business globally.
He has since led BMLL’s move from a specialist data engineer toward a broader supplier of historical data, analytics and data feeds. The company has a Data Lab and delivers its historical data through cloud platforms such as Databricks, and it has signed partnerships including a 2026 agreement with Kalshi covering prediction-market data. In October 2025 Nordic Capital acquired BMLL. In July 2026 Brad Hunt was appointed chairman, and Humphrey remains chief executive and a board director.
