Executive Summary

Moritz Mann has been Chief Executive Officer of Ontinue since April 2026. Ontinue is a managed detection and response provider that began as the MDR division of the Swiss security company Open Systems. He was promoted from inside the company. As Chief Strategy Officer he designed the company’s Agentic SOC model, a managed security operations service in which AI agents and human analysts work together and which is built into the Microsoft security stack. The board then made him responsible for delivering it. By Ontinue’s account he inherited a business with more than 250 customers worldwide and a go-to-market built on its partnership with Microsoft.

Career Highlights

  • Appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ontinue effective 13 April 2026, succeeding Geoff Haydon.
  • Previously Chief Strategy Officer of Ontinue, where the company credits him as the key architect of its strategy, product direction and Agentic SOC vision.
  • Earlier Chief Product Officer at Open Systems, where Ontinue says he played a pivotal role in defining, positioning and launching the company’s platform strategy.
  • More than two decades in the cybersecurity industry, according to his company biography.
  • Holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours from The Open University.

Professional Journey

Mann started out technical. He studied business informatics at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg in Germany, a cooperative university that combines academic study with work placements, and later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours from The Open University in the UK. His company biography places him “at the intersection of technology and business”, with experience across product development, corporate strategy and technology innovation.

Earlier in his career he was Chief Product Officer at Open Systems, the Swiss managed security company. When Open Systems split its businesses into two brands, Ontinue became the name of its MDR division. Open Systems kept its managed SASE business under the original name. The new MDR brand combined Open Systems’ detection and response operations with three acquisitions: Born in the Cloud for Microsoft-focused services, Sqooba for data science, and the managed security provider Tiberium.

At Ontinue, Mann became Chief Strategy Officer and, according to the company, was the main author of its strategy, product direction and Agentic SOC vision. That vision is Ontinue’s argument that traditional security operations centres cannot keep up with threats that move “at machine speed”, and that the answer is AI agents directed by expert human defenders working inside the customer’s Microsoft security environment.

In April 2026 the board appointed him Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, when Geoff Haydon left for an opportunity outside the company. Chairman Bernd-Michael Rumpf described the appointment as “a thoughtful leadership transition aligned with Ontinue’s long-term strategy”. Mann set out his priorities as execution: “translating customer challenges directly into innovation, moving faster as a company, and scaling globally without losing what makes Ontinue different.”
