Executive Summary
Laurent Dechaux has been Chief Executive Officer of Verimatrix, the Euronext Paris-listed maker of video content protection and anti-piracy software, since 1 September 2025. The board appointed him when it split the chairman and CEO roles; Amedeo D’Angelo stayed on as chairman. Dechaux has spent more than 30 years in B2B software, including as CEO of Enablon, as head of Sage France and Southern Europe, and in senior roles at Oracle in Europe. In his first months he completed a strategic shift at Verimatrix. The company sold its mobile application protection business to Guardsquare and now concentrates on protecting streaming and broadcast video, which it says makes up about 90% of revenue.

- Earlier headed Sage France and Southern Europe, and held senior positions at Oracle in Europe.
Professional Journey
Dechaux built his career in enterprise software. When Verimatrix announced his appointment, it cited more than 30 years in the B2B software industry. That included senior positions at Oracle in Europe and leadership of Sage’s business in France and Southern Europe. He later became CEO of Enablon, which sells software for risk management, compliance and sustainability. The company said he oversaw a transformation there while keeping growth going.
Verimatrix is the former Inside Secure, a French company that started out designing secure semiconductors and moved into security software through a series of acquisitions. It left the chip business in 2016. In February 2019 it bought Verimatrix, Inc., a San Diego content-security company, and in June 2019 it adopted the Verimatrix name. The company is listed on Euronext Paris and has its head office in Meyreuil, near Aix-en-Provence.
On 29 August 2025 the Verimatrix board separated the roles of chairman and chief executive. It accepted Amedeo D’Angelo’s resignation as CEO, kept him as chairman, and appointed Dechaux chief executive from 1 September 2025. By Dechaux’s own account in the company’s 2025 annual report, the embedded and application protection product line had not met its market-share or subscription targets, while video content protection was still growing. He decided to refocus the company on that core business and to find a buyer for the rest. Verimatrix signed an agreement with the Belgian mobile-security company Guardsquare in December 2025 and completed the sale of its Extended Threat Defense assets in February 2026. The sale included patents and a team of specialists.
The company now describes itself around anti-piracy for live sport, streaming and pay TV. Its first-half 2026 results, published in July 2026, showed $21.3 million in anti-piracy revenue, down 11% against a first half of 2025 that included a large licence sale. Over the same period subscription ARR rose 11% to $16.1 million and EBITDA was $1.9 million, and the group renegotiated its financial debt. At the end of 2025 Verimatrix reported that recurring revenue had passed its target of 67% of the total. In September 2026 it announced a partnership with Kaltura to secure OTT and cloud TV services.
