Executive Summary

Keith Riddle is Chief Executive Officer of Payfinia, a credit union service organization that gives community financial institutions shared access to real-time payments. Its Instant Payments Xchange (IPX) platform connects banks and credit unions to both the Federal Reserve’s FedNow Service and The Clearing House’s RTP network through APIs, so that smaller institutions can offer 24/7 instant transfers without building their own infrastructure. Riddle was named CEO in May 2026 after serving as Payfinia’s general manager inside Tyfone, the Portland digital banking company that incubated it. He has spent more than 35 years in financial services, much of it in credit union technology and payment networks.

Career Highlights

  • Named Chief Executive Officer of Payfinia in May 2026, having previously been General Manager of the Payfinia CUSO at Tyfone.
  • Earlier CEO of the Americas for BankiFi Technology, responsible for its small business embedded banking strategy in North America.
  • As CEO of Sherpa Technologies, a CUSO owned by Corporate One, led the instant payments strategy that made Sherpa the first CUSO in the US to connect to the RTP Network.
  • Nominated by industry peers to chair The Clearing House’s RTP Advisory Committee and served as a voting member of the RTP Business Committee.
  • Chairs the Faster Payments Council’s QR Code Interface Workgroup.

Professional Journey

Riddle’s career has run through the plumbing of American payments. Tyfone’s biography of him lists executive business development, innovation and product management roles at Electronic Payment Services/Concord EFS, CheckFree Corporation, Online Resources Corporation, D+H and Corporate One Federal Credit Union, a corporate credit union serving other credit unions.

That last connection led to his first chief executive role. Sherpa Technologies was a CUSO owned by Corporate One, set up to guide credit unions through digital transformation, fintech evaluation and payment modernization. Under Riddle it built a vetted network of fintech partners for digital onboarding, account switching and identity verification, and its instant payments strategy made it the first CUSO in the US to connect to the RTP Network. He was then CEO of the Americas for BankiFi Technology, responsible for the strategy and North American distribution of its embedded banking product for small businesses.

He joined Tyfone as General Manager of the Payfinia CUSO, responsible for strategy and business development: signing credit unions and community financial institutions directly and building partnerships with digital banking providers and fintechs. Payfinia’s structure is cooperative. Star One Credit Union’s CEO, Minal Gupta, is a founding investor in the CUSO, and Tyfone incubated the platform while positioning it as independent infrastructure. In May 2026 Payfinia named Riddle chief executive officer. Announcing the appointment, the company reported IPX implementations taking under 80 days, transaction volumes more than 30% above projections and lower fraud rates than Same-Day ACH, and named integration partners including Achieva Credit Union, CU*SOUTH, EWS Paze, Sync1 Systems and Matera.

Alongside his operating roles he has worked on industry governance for real-time payments. Peers nominated him to chair The Clearing House’s RTP Advisory Committee, he has been a voting member of its RTP Business Committee, and he represents Payfinia in the Faster Payments Council as chair of its QR Code Interface Workgroup and a member of its Directory Model Services Workgroup.

He lives in Columbus, Ohio.
