Executive Summary

Kate Quirke is Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alcidion Group, an ASX-listed digital health software company whose Miya Precision platform supports patient flow, clinical decision-making and electronic patient records in hospitals across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. She came to the role through an acquisition rather than a search: in July 2018 Alcidion bought MKM Health, the healthcare IT business she was running as chief executive, together with the UK company Patientrack, and she took charge of the enlarged group. Eight years on, Alcidion reported FY26 revenue of A$51.6 million, nearly two-thirds of it from the UK, and positive operating cash flow.

Career Highlights

  • Group Managing Director and CEO of Alcidion Group since 3 July 2018, and an Executive Director of the company from the same date.
  • Reported FY26 revenue of A$51.6M, up 27%, with Underlying EBITDA of A$6.8M and annual recurring revenue of A$38.3M at 30 June 2026.
  • Completed the acquisition of the Kyra flow products from Telstra Health in June 2026, adding more than 30 customers in Australia, largely in Queensland.
  • Won a seven-year electronic patient record contract with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, Alcidion’s third EPR win in the UK.
  • Before Alcidion, rose at MKM Health from Sales Director (joining in FY2012) to Head of Sales and Marketing and then CEO.
  • Non-Executive Director of ANDHealth, an Australian commercialisation organisation for digital health companies.

Professional Journey

Quirke’s career has been spent in healthcare information technology. Alcidion’s annual report credits her with more than 25 years in the sector, including large procurements and implementations of health IT across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and South-East Asia, and leading management roles at large healthcare software firms, which it does not name.

The part of that career on the public record begins at MKM Health, an Australian provider of IT solutions to healthcare organisations in Australia and New Zealand. She joined as Sales Director in the 2012 financial year, became Head of Sales and Marketing, and was chief executive for about two years before 2018. When Alcidion announced the deal in April 2018, it said MKM Health’s revenue had grown more than two and a half times since she joined, a compound annual growth rate of 29%.

In April 2018 Alcidion agreed to acquire MKM Health and Patientrack, a UK supplier of patient safety software used by NHS trusts. The deal gave Alcidion, then a smaller Adelaide-based company, a large UK customer base without the cost of building one. As part of the deal Quirke was named chief executive of the enlarged group and joined the board as an Executive Director. Ray Blight, who had been Alcidion’s Chairman and CEO, became Executive Chairman. The acquisition completed on 3 July 2018 and her appointment took effect that day.

As CEO she has grown Alcidion partly through acquisitions. The company bought ExtraMed and Silverlink in 2021. In June 2026 it completed the purchase of the Kyra Patient Flow Manager, Kyra Queue Manager and Kyra IQ products from Telstra Health, which she described as strengthening Alcidion’s position in patient flow, the core of the business, in its home market. The larger contracts have come from customers extending what they already use. In FY26 University Hospitals Sussex, already a Patientrack customer, signed a seven-year electronic patient record contract worth about A$35 million. North Cumbria Integrated Care went live on the Miya Precision EPR. Leidos Australia extended its Australian Defence Force contract by A$12.3 million.

For the year to 30 June 2026 the company reported revenue of A$51.6 million, up 27%, and a net profit of A$2.3 million. It had A$20.6 million in cash and no debt. In September 2026 the ASX removed its obligation to lodge quarterly cash flow reports, citing the stronger financial position. Alcidion now has about 140 employees.

Outside Alcidion, she is a Non-Executive Director of ANDHealth, which runs accelerator, incubator and commercialisation programmes for digital health companies in Australia.

Education

Alcidion’s 2026 annual report lists a Bachelor of Applied Science. It does not name the institution or give a year, and no source found supplies them.
