Executive Summary

Jonas Blanck is a co-founder of GetAccept, the Swedish company that built the digital sales room — a shared space where a buyer and a seller work through a proposal together, with tracking, video, chat and electronic signature in one place, rather than a PDF sent into silence. The company’s founding statistic, which its CEO has quoted repeatedly, is that around sixty per cent of contracts are lost not to a competitor but to indecision or no reply at all. Blanck was the technical co-founder of the four, bringing a Lund computer science degree and more than a decade building email marketing infrastructure — deliverability, design tooling, campaign systems — which is a close cousin of the problem GetAccept set out to solve. The company went through Y Combinator’s Winter 2016 batch and raised a $7 million Series A in 2019 and a $20 million Series B in December 2020.

Professional Journey

Blanck’s technical grounding is a computer science degree from Lund Institute of Technology, followed by more than ten years in email marketing technology. He rose to chief technology officer in that field, working on the unglamorous mechanics of it — designing emails, getting them delivered, and building the systems that make large-scale campaigns run. No public source names the company, but the experience is directly relevant to what he later built: GetAccept’s problem is also one of getting a document in front of a person and knowing what happened to it afterwards.

GetAccept was founded with three others — Samir Smajic, who became CEO, Carl Carell, who became chief revenue officer, and Mathias Thulin — and went through Y Combinator’s Winter 2016 batch. Blanck took the chief technology officer role, responsible for the technology vision and its execution. The product’s premise was that the moment a proposal leaves the seller’s hands is the moment the deal goes dark, and that the fix is to keep both parties inside a shared, instrumented space until the contract is signed.

The funding followed the thesis. In July 2019, DN Capital led a $7 million Series A, joined by BootstrapLabs, Y Combinator and a group of early Spotify investors including the company’s former chief financial officer Peter Sterky, with Bill Macaitis — a well-known B2B marketing operator — joining the board. In December 2020 Bessemer Venture Partners led a $20 million Series B, and in March 2021 Gaia Capital Partners extended that round specifically to back the company’s push into France, its founding partner citing long familiarity with the founders and first-hand use of the product.

His present relationship with the company is not clear from public sources. GetAccept’s own careers site lists 131 people and includes three of the four co-founders with their titles; Blanck is not among them, his individual employee page on that site now returns a 404, and no chief technology officer of any name is listed. Business databases still record him as co-founder and CTO, but none of the evidence for that is more recent than 2021. What can be stated without qualification is that he co-founded the company and led its technology through the period in which it raised its Series A and Series B.
