Professional Journey
Martino studied accounting at DePaul University in Chicago. Strata’s biography says he began his career at an enterprise healthcare IT provider, which it does not name, and that he has more than 30 years of experience across software and healthcare services companies, mostly in building financial systems and supporting growth.
Before Strata he was Controller at Catamaran Corporation, a pharmacy benefit management company that is now part of OptumRx.
At Strata Decision Technology he served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, running finance and taking part in the company’s operations and strategic planning. When he joined is not published. Roper Technologies announced its acquisition of Strata in January 2015, when more than 1,000 hospitals subscribed to its cloud-based platform for financial planning, decision support and cost improvement, and placed it in Roper’s Medical segment.
Martino moved from those roles to Chief Executive Officer. In August 2023 Roper announced the acquisition of Syntellis Performance Solutions, formerly Kaufman Hall’s software business, which served healthcare, higher education and financial institutions, and its combination with Strata. Strata said then that Martino would continue as CEO of the combined organisation. He said the combination would “allow us to accelerate innovation.” The merger took Strata beyond healthcare. It now sells StrataJazz to healthcare providers and Axiom to financial institutions and higher education, and reports more than 2,300 customer organisations. The company is still listed as a Roper subsidiary in Roper’s 2025 annual report.
