Executive Summary

John Bennett has been Chief Executive Officer of Dashlane since February 2023. He brought to the password manager a background that fits it unusually closely. At LogMeIn he spent four years as SVP and General Manager of the Identity and Access Management business, which included LastPass, one of Dashlane’s direct competitors, and grew that unit to $450 million. At Dashlane he has taken a consumer-known password manager toward business credential security. The main product of that change is the Omnix platform, launched in April 2025, which combines credential protection and password management for corporate security teams.

  • Named Chief Executive Officer of Dashlane in February 2023, succeeding JD Sherman.

  • Expanded Dashlane’s Lisbon operation into a new three-floor office in 2025.
  • Previously CEO of Cordance, where he led day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
  • At LogMeIn, led the Identity and Access Management unit (LastPass, LogMeIn Pro, GoToMyPC and LogMeIn Central) as SVP and General Manager for four years.
  • Earlier executive roles at Citrix, Vapps (acquired by Citrix), Ace*Comm, Sentori, CMGi and Nascent Technologies (acquired by CMGi).

Professional Journey

Bennett studied economics at Mary Washington and, by Dashlane’s account, spent more than 30 years leading B2B software-as-a-service and communications companies. His earlier career ran through Nascent Technologies, which CMGi acquired; CMGi itself; Sentori; Ace*Comm; and Vapps, which Citrix acquired, after which he held an executive role at Citrix.

The role that set up his move to Dashlane was at LogMeIn. As SVP and General Manager for four years, he ran its Identity and Access Management business unit, responsible for LastPass, LogMeIn Pro, GoToMyPC and LogMeIn Central, and grew it to $450 million. He then became chief executive of Cordance, leading its day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.

Dashlane announced him as CEO on 7 February 2023. His predecessor, JD Sherman, had led the company for two years and grown it to more than 15 million users and 20,000 organisations; he stepped back from full-time leadership and stayed on as an advisor through June. Chairman Bernard Liautaud cited Bennett’s operational and leadership skills, his knowledge of the B2B customer and his record in security and identity. Bennett said at the time that he wanted to accelerate Dashlane’s growth with a security product for the underserved small and mid-sized business market.

Since then the company has turned decisively toward business customers. In May 2024 he set out the “new Dashlane” as a credential security company. In April 2025 he introduced Omnix, which Dashlane describes as the first intelligent credential security platform of its kind. That spring Dashlane also added a chief information security officer and a chief product officer to its senior team, and opened a larger office in Lisbon, citing Portugal’s tech talent base. Dashlane now says more than 25,000 brands use its products. In February 2026 he published the company’s position on AI security, arguing that credentials should stay under the user’s control as AI agents take on more tasks.
