Executive Summary

Felix Meng is one of the three co-founders of Zip, the San Francisco company that builds an AI platform for enterprise procurement, and leads its go-to-market organisation. Zip was founded in 2020 on the premise that buying from suppliers inside a large company is slow and fragmented, and that a single intake front door with consumer-grade design could route requests through the procurement, finance, legal, IT and risk reviews they need. The company raised a $190 million Series D led by BOND at a $2.2 billion valuation in October 2024, and reports $371 million raised in total. Where his co-founders Rujul Zaparde and Lu Cheng hold the CEO and CTO roles, Meng’s remit is commercial: the teams that sell Zip and carry it to market.

Career Highlights

  • Co-founded Zip in 2020 alongside Rujul Zaparde (CEO) and Lu Cheng (CTO); Zip’s leadership page names him its go-to-market co-founder.
  • Has led Zip’s global go-to-market teams since the company was established, according to Procurement Magazine.
  • Earlier described by ProcureCon Europe as Zip’s VP of Commercial Sales.
  • Zip’s $190 million Series D in October 2024, led by BOND with DST Global, Adams Street, Alkeon, Y Combinator and CRV, valued the company at $2.2 billion and was described by Zip as the largest investment in procurement technology in more than two decades.
  • Presented Zip’s inaugural State of Spend report, based on a survey of 1,030 leaders across procurement, finance, legal, IT and risk, on stage at DPW Amsterdam in October 2025.

Professional Journey

Before Zip, Meng worked at Salesforce, according to the speaker biography published by the ProcureCon Europe conference. No role or dates for that period appear in any source reviewed, so it is recorded here only as the employer.

In 2020 he co-founded Zip with Rujul Zaparde and Lu Cheng. The company’s own account of its origin is that it set out “to reinvent the slow, complex procurement process by bringing a consumer-grade user experience to B2B purchasing”. The product is an intake and orchestration layer: employees request a purchase in one place, and Zip routes it through the approvals, contract review, security assessment and supplier onboarding that would otherwise be scattered across email and separate systems. It has since added procure-to-pay capability, and the Series D announcement committed funds to that product line, to expansion across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and to a new Zip AI Lab.

Meng’s role from the start has been commercial. Procurement Magazine describes him as having led Zip’s global go-to-market teams across product, market and clients since the company was established, and an earlier ProcureCon biography gives his title as VP of Commercial Sales. Zip’s current leadership page lists him as its go-to-market co-founder. The customer list Zip names publicly includes Snowflake, Instacart, Figma, Coinbase, Dollar Tree, Prudential, Northwestern Mutual, Toast and Udemy.

He is also one of the company’s public voices on the direction of procurement. At DPW Amsterdam in October 2025 he presented Zip’s inaugural State of Spend report on stage alongside Block’s chief procurement officer, and argued in an interview with Procurement Magazine that AI fluency had become the skill respondents most expected to matter over the following three years, with a growing share of approvals and reviews handled by AI rather than by people.
