Executive Summary

Eike Huebner became Chief Executive Officer of Ellison Technologies on 1 April 2026, in what the company called a planned succession from Graham Hooper, its CEO for twelve years. Ellison, founded in 1955, sells and integrates CNC machine tools, robotics, software and related services for American manufacturers, and has sixteen offices. Huebner is an insider: his connection to the company goes back to 2010, he was Chief Operating Officer from 2021, and he previously led GSC, a SOLIDWORKS and additive manufacturing business that Ellison bought in 2021. Ellison credits him with the “Journey of The Part” strategy behind its move from machine tool distributor to full-range supplier.

  • Chief Executive Officer of Ellison Technologies since 1 April 2026.
  • Chief Operating Officer of Ellison Technologies from 2021, working alongside CEO Graham Hooper.
  • Key to developing Ellison’s “Journey of The Part” strategy, which extends the business from machine tools into robotics, software, additive manufacturing, financing and engineering services.
  • President and CEO of GSC, the SOLIDWORKS and Markforged solutions provider, when Ellison Technologies acquired it in December 2021.
  • Worked across the machine tool business, including on the equipment manufacturer’s side, in field sales, in sales leadership and in regional management.

Professional Journey

Huebner has spent his career in the machine tool business. Ellison describes him as having worked on the equipment manufacturer’s side as well as in field sales, sales leadership and regional management, and says his connection to the company goes back to 2010. The employers and dates for those earlier roles are not published.

In December 2021, Ellison Technologies acquired GSC, a company founded in 1989 in Germantown, Wisconsin, that sells SOLIDWORKS design software, Markforged 3D printing and engineering services. Huebner was President and CEO of GSC at the time of the deal. Ellison’s then-CEO, Graham Hooper, presented the acquisition as a way to cover the life of a part from design and prototyping through to production on Ellison’s machines. GSC continued as a stand-alone company.

Ellison says Huebner was Chief Operating Officer from 2021 and worked closely with Hooper throughout. It also credits him as key to the “Journey of The Part” strategy, which widened Ellison from CNC hardware into robots and cobots, service and parts, financing, spindle rebuilds, software, additive technology, consulting and engineering services. Ellison describes that strategy as what made it the leading manufacturing distributor in the United States.

He became chief executive on 1 April 2026. Ellison presented the handover as planned and continuous, and Hooper stayed on as a part-time Executive Advisor. The company says Huebner’s priorities follow from the pressures its customers face: global competition, tighter timelines, labour constraints, fast-changing technology and the difficulty of choosing capital equipment. It names DN Solutions and Dassault Systèmes as its principal partners for this next phase.
