Executive Summary

David Federhen co-founded Uberall, the multi-location marketing platform, in Berlin in 2013 with his longtime friend and business partner Florian Hübner. Uberall helps brands with many physical locations manage how each store appears across search engines, maps, review sites, social networks and, increasingly, AI assistants. The company says it now covers more than 1.4 million locations for over 1,800 customers and partners, and has raised EUR 143 million. Leadership has since passed to others: Anthony Foy is Chief Executive Officer and Hübner is President. Federhen is still credited as a founder by the company and its lead investor. Uberall’s own materials do not describe his current role.

  • Named alongside Hübner as a founder by Bregal Milestone, which invested in Uberall in 2021.

Professional Journey

Federhen and Hübner started Uberall in Berlin in 2013. Their aim, in the company’s words, was to “bridge the online and offline world more effectively”. They built a platform that connects companies with local customers through search, discovery, engagement and conversion. The idea was that a retailer, restaurant chain or bank with hundreds of branches needs accurate, consistent information about each one across every directory, map and review platform a nearby customer might use.

The company grew through venture and growth equity and through acquisitions. HPE Growth invested in 2018. That September, Uberall bought Navads, a listings and location data business with a large reseller network, funded by a $25 million extension of its Series B. It later raised $115 million and acquired MomentFeed, a Santa Monica provider of what it called proximity search optimisation, to build its North American presence. Bregal Milestone invested in 2021. Uberall now describes itself as a multi-location marketing platform built around Location Performance Optimization, a framework that links visibility, reputation, engagement and conversion to results at the level of each location.

Leadership passed to others over time. By 2022 Hübner was described as Uberall’s “CEO & Founder”. Hübner later became President, and Anthony Foy, an enterprise software executive, took over as Chief Executive Officer. Uberall’s current leadership page does not list Federhen. HPE Growth still lists him as “Founder” in Uberall’s leadership. No first-party source reviewed describes his current operating or board role.
