Professional Journey
GetBusy’s biography says Rabie started his career in corporate advisory, then held senior positions at a start-up and at a cloud technology company. In 2010 he became Strategic Director of Reckon. In 2015 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, leading the strategic direction of Reckon’s IT, development, marketing and HR shared-service divisions across four countries. In that period he oversaw the delivery of online accounting, fintech and document management products to customers worldwide.
He also led the demerger of GetBusy. GetBusy plc was incorporated in England in June 2017 and floated that year, and it trades on AIM under the ticker GETB. Rabie has been chief executive since July 2017.
Under Rabie the strategy has narrowed into two roles, as set out in the company’s 2026 half-year results: generating near-term cash from SmartVault and building long-term value in Wórkiro. SmartVault is now integrated with Intuit ProConnect, Lacerte and ProSeries, Thomson Reuters UltraTax, CCH and Drake. GetBusy says it holds more than 650 million client documents for over 31,000 professionals at 7,000 firms, and new business from UltraTax customers rose 52% after the late-2025 ProConnect integration. Wórkiro returned to growth in 2026, helped by migrating Virtual Cabinet customers onto it and by a wider partnership with TaxCalc. “With AI increasingly becoming a source of significant value creation across our trusted vertical platforms,” Rabie said with the results, “the board’s confidence in the successful execution of its strategy has never been higher.”
