Career Highlights

Professional Journey
CAI Software traces its history to 1978, when three partners founded it as a software consulting company and began building ERP systems for targeted vertical markets. Iron Creek Partners took a majority stake in 2014 and led a run of acquisitions, and since 2022 the company has been backed by STG, the technology-focused private equity firm.
On 8 October 2025 CAI announced that it had combined with Print ePS, the graphic communications software division of eProductivity Software, in a merger of equals. The combined business kept the CAI Software name and reorganised into Process Manufacturing, Discrete Manufacturing and Graphic Communications divisions, with Print ePS becoming the last of these. As part of the transaction CAI named Brent Pietrzak as CEO and Townsend as CFO. STG, the lead investor in both businesses, stayed invested in the combined company, and its managing partner William Chisholm and managing director Patrick Fouhy said they were “excited to partner with Brent, Cort and the broader management team.”
CAI lists him as Chief Financial Officer on its leadership page, responsible for driving strategic financial decisions and supporting operational growth across the company. CAI does not publish his earlier career.
