Professional Journey

Sullens trained as an engineer, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He later took an MBA in finance, strategy and entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

He spent ten years as President and Chief Executive Officer of WorkWave, a cloud software company for field service and last-mile logistics businesses. The company says he grew it from 38 employees to nearly 300 and increased revenue substantially. WorkWave was named one of New Jersey’s Best Places to Work seven times, appeared on the Inc. 5000 list five times, and was named an Inc. Best Place to Work. In 2016 EY named him Entrepreneur of the Year in New Jersey for Software Services, and in 2017 he won a Stevie Award as People Focused CEO of the Year. WorkWave was acquired by IFS, the Swedish enterprise software group backed by EQT.

In July 2018 CentralReach appointed him Chief Executive Officer. It was then based in Pompano Beach, Florida, and he succeeded its founder and chief executive, Charlotte Fudge. He joined after a majority investment by Insight Venture Partners, and the company opened a New Jersey office when he arrived. The company says it won more than 75 awards during his tenure, including Deloitte Technology Fast 500 and NJBIZ Best Places to Work.

In April 2025 Roper Technologies acquired CentralReach Holdings for $1.85 billion net of cash acquired and certain liabilities assumed, adding it to Roper’s Application Software segment. Roper describes CentralReach as a provider of cloud-based and AI-enabled software for ABA therapy for autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities care.

In early September 2026, after eight years as CEO, Sullens told customers he had decided it was time “to let another CEO take the reins”. Chief Operating Officer Clark Convery became Interim CEO, and Sullens became a Strategic Advisor to support the transition. CentralReach has not named a permanent successor.
