Professional Journey

Before Seed, Bowtell was President of Candid, the clear-aligner company whose CandidPro business described itself as a teledentistry leader. In 2021 she was the company’s voice on its partnership with Women in DSO, arguing that serving an increasingly diverse patient population required representation both inside the company and among its partners.

She joined Seed Health in 2022 as Chief Commercial Officer. Seed had launched in 2016 as a membership business, selling its DS-01 Daily Synbiotic online, and its first retail presence was in natural grocery at Erewhon from 2021. Over the following years the company built what Bowtell calls an omnichannel strategy. When Seed launched on Amazon in 2024, she said, it arrived to around 30,000 monthly searches for its product name, and after launching at Target in September it quickly became one of the top ten revenue-producing products in its set. She was promoted to President in 2024.

In April 2025 she became chief executive. Katz and Dhir, who had previously led the company, stayed on as chairperson and board director. Within weeks Seed rolled out DS-01 and a lower-priced 14-day Gut Reset across all 450 Sprouts Farmers Market stores in 24 states, which she described as a way both to serve customers who already knew the brand and to let new ones try it at a range of price points. Her argument for the category is that gut health connects to most of the body’s systems and gives consumers agency over their own health without other interventions, and that in a tighter economy the company’s commitment to peer-reviewed clinical research matters more, not less.

Under her, Seed has widened its range beyond probiotics. In September 2025 it introduced Co-Biotics, a line of multivitamin, energy and sleep supplements designed to act on both human and microbial pathways. In May 2026 she appointed Anisha Raghavan as the company’s first Chief Marketing Officer; by then Seed said it had reached more than two million consumers and was growing profitably across direct-to-consumer, Amazon and retail.
