Professional Journey
Mishra studied economics at the University of Pennsylvania and later earned a master’s degree at Harvard Business School. He started in investment banking and, in Xactly’s words, worked with large multinational enterprises as a private equity investor focused on growth-stage companies.
He then moved into operating roles at technology companies, first at Telera and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and then at Transera, where he stayed for more than a decade and was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer. When BroadSoft acquired Transera, Mishra joined BroadSoft’s corporate leadership team and ran a business unit. Xactly says that unit more than doubled its bookings growth, added more than 70 enterprise customers and signed up more than 25 channel partners. Alongside his operating roles he has served on boards or as an adviser at SmartAction, Zingtree and SignifAI, the last of which New Relic acquired.
He joined Xactly in 2017 as Senior Vice President of Products, with a remit to widen the company’s addressable market and speed up revenue growth. Vista Equity Partners had completed its acquisition of Xactly in July 2017, ending its time as a New York Stock Exchange company. Mishra was soon promoted to Chief Product Officer, where he led a cross-functional team covering go-to-market and customer success, and he then became Chief Operating Officer.
In September 2023 Chris Cabrera, who founded Xactly in 2005 and had served as CEO since its founding, said he intended to retire. Xactly named Mishra CEO on 19 December 2023, and Cabrera stayed on the board. Under Mishra, Xactly describes its product as an AI-powered Intelligent Revenue Platform for revenue operations and finance teams. Its 2026 releases include agent-based tools for revenue planning and compensation and an integration partnership with ServiceNow.
