Losay’s training is unusual for a streaming-software chief executive: a management degree from Reims Management School and a bachelor of laws from Université Paris 2, rather than an engineering background. What he brought instead was OEM channel expertise — the discipline of selling technology that will be embedded inside somebody else’s product, where the buyer is a hardware manufacturer’s engineering and procurement function and the sale is measured in design wins rather than seats. Mediadev, the IT OEM marketing organisation he founded, is that business explicitly. Wylog, a web and mobile development software company, followed.

EvoStream, founded in 2010, applied the same commercial logic to video. The technical premise was Meissner’s side of the partnership: a streaming media server written to be small and resource-efficient, so that it could run where a conventional media server could not — inside embedded devices, on constrained hardware, as a component rather than a platform. The product is sold in two forms, as an embeddable video engine for manufacturers integrating video into their own systems and as a ready-to-use application for organisations that want to deploy it directly. Meissner came to it from CHI Systems, where he worked as a C++ engineer on networked military applications including geographic information systems, tracking and database synchronisation, before that company was acquired by Harris.

The company has stayed small and privately held. It has not raised visible venture rounds, does not publish customer counts, and generates little press beyond product release notes — a profile consistent with an OEM-focused software business that sells a component into other people’s products and is judged by the engineers who integrate it. Losay continues to run Mediadev and Wylog alongside EvoStream, which places him among the four companies he has built rather than leaving them behind him.
