Professional Journey
Rathi grew up near Indore in central India and was the first in her family to go to university, taking a Bachelor of Engineering in information technology at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore in 2004. After starting as a software developer, she moved to the UK in January 2007 and joined Goldman Sachs as a software engineer, later being promoted to vice president.
She has described Systango’s start as partly accidental. After considering a different consumer venture, she took up a request from a former colleague to help set up a technology team in India for a contract, and that engagement became the base of the business. Its corporate history runs across two countries: an Indian company in Indore that she and Nilesh Rathi acquired in 2006 and renamed Systango Technologies in 2016, and a UK operating company, Systango Ltd, incorporated in England in 2012, which the Indian company brought under its ownership in 2022-23.
The business grew without outside funding. Systango Technologies converted to a public company at the end of 2022, and Rathi was appointed Managing Director from 2 January 2023; its prospectus is dated 9 March 2023 and the shares trade on NSE Emerge. In the 2025-26 annual report the founders reported revenue growth, expanding margins and an interim dividend, together with a strategic alliance with Alibaba Cloud and a new UK-based Strategic Advisory Board. The company describes its focus as AI engineering, data platforms and cloud for clients in legal, financial services and e-commerce.
Alongside the company she has worked to increase the number of women in technology, including co-founding the London branch of Women Who Code and founding Women Hack for Non-Profits.
