Executive Summary
Thomas Robinson is Chief Executive Officer of Domino Data Lab, the San Francisco company whose platform enterprises use to build, govern and run AI and machine learning systems in regulated industries. He was appointed on 27 August 2026, stepping up from Chief Operating Officer and succeeding co-founder Nick Elprin, who remains as President, Chief Product Officer and chairman. Robinson’s path to the job ran through partnerships rather than product or sales: he built Domino’s partner network, cultivated the relationships that brought NVIDIA, Snowflake, NetApp and UBS in as investors, and as COO recast the company’s go-to-market around delivering AI solutions for government, financial services and life sciences customers. Before Domino he led enterprise technology infrastructure at Bridgewater Associates.
Career Highlights
- Appointed CEO of Domino Data Lab in August 2026; Nick Elprin moved to Chief Product Officer, President and chairman of the board.
- Chief Operating Officer from no later than January 2023 until his appointment as CEO, leading go-to-market and the design of Domino’s solutions strategy.
- Earlier led strategic partnerships and corporate development, launching Domino’s partner network in July 2021.
- Credited by the company with fostering the relationships that led NVIDIA, Snowflake, NetApp and UBS to invest in Domino.
- Spoke for the company on its federal and defence work, including a Navy ammunition-programme award in 2025 and the Genesis Mission consortium in 2026.
- Previously led enterprise technology infrastructure at Bridgewater Associates.
Professional Journey
Robinson studied math and computer science at MIT and went on to Bridgewater Associates, the hedge fund, where, according to Domino, he led the firm’s enterprise technology infrastructure. That is a relevant apprenticeship for what came next: a large, data-intensive financial firm is exactly the kind of buyer Domino would later sell to.
At Domino, which was founded in 2013 to give data science teams a shared platform for building and deploying models, his early remit was the ecosystem around the product. In July 2021, as vice president of strategic partnerships, he launched the company’s partner network, arguing that enterprises should be able to “future-proof their investments by buying best-in-breed solutions and not having a vendor make the decisions for them.” Through 2022, as VP of Strategic Partnerships and Corporate Development, he fronted Domino’s integrations with NVIDIA (including Fleet Command support for models at the edge), Anaconda and the German consultancy Alexander Thamm, and presented at Snowflake Summit the day Domino announced Snowflake’s investment. The company later credited him with building the NVIDIA, Snowflake, NetApp and UBS relationships that each turned into an investment.
By January 2023 he was Chief Operating Officer. In that role he shaped the go-to-market team and pushed Domino further into the public sector: a Carahsoft distribution partnership in 2023, the hiring of a national-security official later that year, a U.S. Navy programme in 2025 and, in August 2026, Domino’s part in the Genesis Mission consortium’s model-validation work. Domino describes him as the architect of its solutions strategy — the shift from selling a platform to co-building AI applications with customers, backed by forward-deployed engineers.
On 27 August 2026 Domino named him CEO. The change is a division of labour rather than a departure: Elprin, the co-founder who had led the company since its start, now runs product and engineering as Chief Product Officer and President and chairs the board. Robinson framed the task as moving AI from experiment to operation: “AI’s promise turns real when systems of models move people closer to making better judgments.”
Education

Studied math and computer science, according to Domino’s leadership biography. The company does not state a degree.
