  • Chief Financial Officer of Ledger Investing, hired in March 2023.

Professional Journey

Gerhard studied economics at the University of Pennsylvania, concentrating in accounting and finance, and built his early career in capital markets and investment banking. Corcentric’s biography names JPMorgan Chase & Co., Nomura Securities and Banc of America Securities; a 2023 trade-press account of his career also lists Deutsche Bank, the boutique technology investment bank Vaquero Capital and the venture firm Costanoa Capital Management.

He moved into operating companies as a finance executive. At Skillz, the mobile esports platform, he served as Vice President of Finance through its combination with the special purpose acquisition company Flying Eagle Acquisition Corp. The September 2020 merger agreement names him, alongside Skillz’s founder, Casey Chafkin and Charlotte Edelman, as one of the executives whose knowledge underpins the company’s representations, and Skillz became publicly traded in late 2020.

In March 2023 he was hired as Chief Financial Officer of Ledger Investing, bringing experience in capital raising, M&A execution, investor relations, and financial planning and analysis. He also served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of FLYR. Across these roles, Corcentric credits him with helping companies raise more than $1 billion in capital.

At Corcentric he is Chief Operating Officer, responsible for making sure products, services and customer delivery execute efficiently and in line with company strategy, as well as for capital markets activities. He works under President and Chief Executive Officer Matt Clark, with founder Douglas W. Clark as Executive Chairman. The company, which has grown through acquisitions over nearly three decades, now describes its focus as fleet management and managed accounts receivable.
