Professional Journey
Plan A’s account of Kulik’s career begins in engineering. Early on he worked at several large international e-commerce and customer-support companies, where he helped design and build fraud prevention tools, data warehousing and platforms that process millions of dollars in transactions a day. The company says his work on fast, scalable architectures led to increasingly senior roles, up to senior vice president of engineering.
He then co-founded startups with Aron Ezra, including OfferCraft and MacroView Labs, where he was the technology lead. MacroView Labs made mobile software for hospitality, healthcare and retail customers and was acquired by Bally Technologies, now part of Light & Wonder. OfferCraft, which won awards including Startup of the Year from the Best in Biz Awards, was acquired by NRT, a Canadian payments company. Plan A describes both sales as eight-figure deals. During these years Kulik built and ran engineering teams spread across several countries.
Kulik and Ezra founded Plan A Technologies after years of hiring outside development firms that disappointed them, and set out to build the engineering partner they had wanted. Kulik launched it with many developers and designers who had worked with him before. By 2022 the company described itself as having more than doubled in a year. It worked across financial services and healthcare and had particularly deep expertise in casino gaming. That October it won two industry awards, which Kulik announced as CEO.
Since then Plan A has repositioned itself as an AI and software engineering company. It now pairs its engineers with its own AI agents and works in data platforms, cloud migration, cybersecurity and technology advisory. The company says it has completed more than 500 product deployments. Technical due diligence for private equity firms and strategic acquirers has become a growing part of the business. In September 2026 Plan A bought a stealth AI assessment tool built by engineer Serhii Melnychuk, who joined the company to develop it further. Kulik explained the purpose of the tool: “Good technical due diligence isn’t about producing a longer list of issues. It’s about distinguishing ordinary, fixable technical debt from something that can fundamentally change the cost or risk profile of a transaction.” He added that “AI is not a substitute for senior technical judgment.”
Plan A says he still writes code himself whenever he gets the chance.
