Executive Summary

Samir Manjure is co-founder and chief executive of Vieu, a Seattle-area startup that builds a continuously updated graph of business relationships, inferred from many data sources, so that enterprise sales teams can find warm introductions into the accounts they want to win instead of cold outreach. It is his second company. After more than 17 years in engineering leadership at Microsoft, including work on Bing and AI, he founded KenSci, which helped healthcare organisations predict risk from aggregated patient data and was acquired by Providence in 2021. He started Vieu in 2022 with fellow Microsoft veteran Simon Skaria, and in October 2024 it raised an $11 million seed round led by Trilogy Equity Partners.

Career Highlights

  • Reported tripled revenue year on year and about 40 customers, including Hyperproof, Rubrik and HP Enterprise, at the time of the 2024 round.
  • Founder and CEO of KenSci, acquired by Providence in 2021 and now part of Advata.
  • More than 17 years at Microsoft in engineering leadership roles, including Bing and AI.

Professional Journey

Manjure spent more than 17 years at Microsoft, where he held a series of engineering leadership positions in areas including Bing and artificial intelligence. He left to found KenSci, which helped healthcare organisations predict risk by aggregating patient data. Providence acquired KenSci in 2021, and it is now part of Advata.

In 2022 he co-founded Vieu with Simon Skaria, who had spent more than 16 years at Microsoft on SQL, Office 365, Azure AI and mixed reality and had previously founded and sold Office365Mon and Albits. Vieu’s argument is that enterprise deals are won through relationships, and that those relationships have always lived in individual people’s heads rather than in any system a sales team can query. It builds what it calls a business graph: given the name of a target account, it produces, in Manjure’s words, “every possible connection that exists from your company to the target company”, drawing on millions of data points to identify the targets most likely to convert. The company launched from stealth with a $2 million seed round from more than 20 angel investors and an unusual commercial pitch: pricing focused on business outcomes, backed by a money-back guarantee.

In October 2024 Vieu announced an $11 million seed round led by Trilogy Equity Partners of Bellevue, whose managing director Chuck Stonecipher joined its board. Manjure said then that revenue had tripled over the previous year and that the company had about 40 customers, including Hyperproof, Rubrik and HP Enterprise, and that he saw Vieu’s ambitions extending beyond B2B sales into business networks more broadly. The company now describes its product as a world-scale inferred relationship graph intended to be the infrastructure layer every revenue system runs on, built for AI agents as well as people.
