Professional Journey
Savova’s early career was spent inside large financial institutions. She worked at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, then at Credit Benchmark, a financial technology business. PensionBee describes those years as a mix of risk management, investment banking and financial technology, without saying which role was at which firm. She took an MBA at Harvard Business School, where she was a George F. Baker Scholar.
PensionBee grew out of a personal irritation. Savova tried to move an old pension and found the transfer slow and difficult. She started the company in 2014 to fix that, and PENSIONBEE LIMITED was incorporated in London on 15 December that year with her as a director. The company’s stated purpose is to simplify pension savings in the UK. Jonathan Lister Parsons, now Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, joined the board in early 2016.
In an Institute of Directors interview published in April 2025, she described going from analyst to running her own business in her late 20s. The same page mentions her somewhat unconventional route to funding PensionBee and her view of entrepreneurship as a way of life that cannot be switched on and off.
In February 2021 a new holding company, PensionBee Group plc, was incorporated, and later that year the business listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. She is a director of both companies and holds 31.96% of the listed company’s ordinary shares, more than any other shareholder. The company expanded into the United States in 2024 and now has offices at 209 Blackfriars Road in London and 85 Broad Street in New York.
Its interim results for the first half of 2026, published in August, reported £8.6 billion of assets under administration, 327,000 invested customers and a £56 million annual revenue run rate, up 40% on the year before. She is also a frequent commentator on pensions and personal finance in the national press and on Bloomberg, BBC News and Sky News.
