Roger Whittle founded Jigsaw24 in Nottingham in 1992 and led it for more than 30 years, first as a small telesales operation and later as a UK IT solutions provider built around Apple. The company says it has passed £2 billion in cumulative sales and employs more than 300 people. In May 2024 Whittle and co-founder John Hughes became non-executive directors, and long-serving executive David Dudman took over day-to-day leadership as Managing Director. Whittle remains on the board, and Jigsaw24 names both founders as outspoken environmental advocates.

Professional Journey
Whittle spent a short time at Apple in his early twenties, then started his own business. Jigsaw24 was incorporated in September 1992 as Jigsaw Systems Ltd and began in a terraced house in central Nottingham. It grew quickly and soon moved to The Old Mill on High Church Street in north Nottingham, which is still its headquarters.
The company grew with the Apple market. It began in telesales and became a managed service provider for business, education, creative and media customers, holding Apple’s top business and education partner accreditations alongside partnerships with Avid, Adobe, HP, Microsoft and Jamf. For the year to 31 May 2022, which was also Jigsaw24’s 30th year, Whittle reported record revenue of £168.5 million, up from £156 million, with EBITDA up 10% to £6.6 million and a workforce of more than 300. That year the company also appointed Peter Bertram as Non-Executive Chairman. Whittle said at the time that he expected Mac adoption in the enterprise to keep growing fast and that Jigsaw24’s ability to support both all-Apple and mixed-vendor estates was unmatched.
In May 2024 Jigsaw24 promoted David Dudman, who joined in 2019, to Managing Director. Whittle and John Hughes, who had run the company since it started, moved into non-executive director roles. Whittle said Dudman’s promotion was “richly deserved” and noted that Jigsaw24 had recently passed £2 billion in cumulative sales, “a huge achievement for a business that started out in a terraced house in Nottingham.”
Sustainability has been a recurring theme for Whittle. Jigsaw24 says its founders are outspoken environmental advocates whose work is backed by the executive team and investors, and the company has introduced measures such as an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme.
