Michael DeVille

Michael DeVille is Founder and CEO of dCapital, a Stamford, Connecticut investment firm focused on the Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) marketplace. Rather than investing purely as a financial backer, DeVille typically pairs capital with a direct operating role at his portfolio and partner companies — serving as a board member, interim executive, or Chief Operating Officer to help build and reposition the businesses he backs.

Career Highlights

DeVille’s career began outside the corporate world: he served as a Forestry Extensionist with the U.S. Peace Corps in The Gambia, West Africa, before moving into international program and business-development roles at the American Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and Land O’Lakes, and later managing cocoa sustainability and procurement for Mars. In 2004, he founded DeVenture Health Partners, a business process outsourcing company he led as Founder and CEO until 2009.

Since founding dCapital, DeVille has taken hands-on operating roles across its consumer-health and food-and-beverage portfolio: he has served as Chief Operating Officer of TCHO Ventures (the craft chocolate maker), Cheribundi, and Nib Mor Dark Chocolate, held an interim COO position at GoodBelly, a probiotic beverage brand under NextFoods, worked in strategy and corporate development for Cropster, and served on the boards of TCHO Ventures and Lifefactory, both dCapital portfolio companies.
