Professional Journey

Connors spent 18 years at General Electric, beginning in field roles at GE Supply as a branch manager, operations manager and sales leader. He moved up through GE’s industrial businesses as Region Sales Manager for the Industrial Systems Automation, Technology & Services business and General Manager of Sales for GE Transmission & Distribution, and became Division President and General Manager of GE Supply Logistics.

The business he now runs grew out of the same GE lineage. General Electric created GE Supply Production Services in 1996 to support its gas turbine manufacturing operations in Greenville, South Carolina. In 2006 Rexel acquired GE Supply and its subsidiaries, and the production services business was rebranded Gexpro Services the following year. Connors joined the business in 2004, according to DSG, and held leadership positions at Rexel Holdings USA.

He became President and Chief Executive Officer of Gexpro Services in 2019. Around the same time, LKCM Headwater Investments acquired Gexpro Services from Rexel, and his employment agreement dates from the end of 2019. In April 2022 Distribution Solutions Group was formed through the combination of Lawson Products, TestEquity and Gexpro Services, with Gexpro Services becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of the listed group. Connors has been a reporting officer of DSG since then.

Under DSG, Gexpro Services describes itself as a global supply chain solutions provider for mission-critical production line management, aftermarket and field installation programs. It offers vendor-managed inventory, kitting, global logistics, manufacturing localisation, value engineering and quality assurance, with roughly 3,300 suppliers and 53,000 products. Most of its revenue comes from long-term agreements with OEM customers, the largest of them in renewable energy. The group’s stated strategy is to grow wallet share with existing customers, expand geographically with them, and use acquisitions to widen its installation and aftermarket services.
