Executive Summary

Paul Hamilton is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Halo, the Suffolk company that makes the HaloITSM, HaloPSA and HaloCRM service management platforms. Halo did not start with venture capital. It grew out of a helpdesk product that Hamilton and his co-founder, Alan Rogerson, sold on the side before working on it full time in 2010. The company describes itself as privately owned and product-led, and now reports £120 million in annual recurring revenue. Hamilton has turned that growth into a public brand, with headline sponsorship of the World Snooker Championship and a new global headquarters in Ipswich.

Career Highlights

  • Co-founded Halo with Alan Rogerson; by 2010 the product brought in about £60,000 a year and both founders committed to it full time.
  • Company secretary of Halo Service Solutions Ltd from 2005 to 2009 and a director since February 2009, according to Companies House.
  • Leads a company that reports £120 million in annual recurring revenue and ties customer discounts to its revenue milestones.
  • Announced in January 2026 that Halo’s global headquarters would move from Stowmarket, its home for 17 years, to the Willis Building in Ipswich.
  • Made Halo the headline partner of the 2025 World Snooker Championship and renewed the partnership for 2026.

Professional Journey

Halo’s origins lie with Alan Rogerson, who started writing software in the early 2000s while working for a Scottish council. Hamilton, then working in IT support, learned to program from him, and the two built a ticketing system they began selling around 2008–09. Companies House records Halo Service Solutions Ltd as incorporated in Scotland in 2001. Hamilton was its company secretary from 2005 and became a director in February 2009.

The business grew slowly at first. In 2010 the side project was earning about £60,000 a year, which was enough for both founders to commit to it full time. The third employee joined in 2011 and hiring continued a few people a year after that. The company traded as NetHelpDesk before renaming itself Halo around 2017–18. Rogerson has since retired, and Hamilton leads the company as CEO.

Under Hamilton, Halo has stayed privately owned and has made that part of its pitch: its pricing page says licence fees do not have to pay for shareholder payouts or large marketing budgets. It gives customers a compounding 5% discount each time it reaches an annual recurring revenue milestone and currently reports £120 million ARR. In April 2025, IT Channel Oxygen reported a workforce of more than 200.

Halo has also become visible well beyond IT buyers. It was headline partner of the 2025 World Snooker Championship, and in March 2026 Hamilton announced its return for the 2026 tournament at the Crucible, saying the partnership fits Halo’s vision “to become a leading British brand”. In January 2026 he announced that the Willis Building in Ipswich would become Halo’s new global headquarters after “17 brilliant years” in Stowmarket.
