Executive Summary

Nicholas Krus is President and Co-Founder of June Skin, a platform that dispatches licensed nurses to clients’ homes to deliver medical aesthetic treatments - Botox, dermal fillers, biostimulators, chemical peels, microneedling, PRP and prescription skincare - booked through a web experience rather than at a clinic. He founded the company with Alena Huberts in 2023 and has built it around two sides of the same market: consumers who want the treatment without the medspa, and nurses who want flexible work and a share of the practice. Before June Skin he spent most of a decade in marketing and growth leadership, principally at the digital music distributor TuneCore, where he rose to Vice President of Marketing, and at the hospitality startup Life House. He began his working life as an economics research assistant at Johns Hopkins, where he was Professor Steve Hanke’s chief research assistant and co-authored a study of wartime hyperinflation.

Career Highlights

  • Co-founded June Skin with Alena Huberts in 2023 and serves as its President.
  • Announced the company’s largest expansion in May 2025: 14 nurse training and compliance studios across New York, Denver, Chicago, Phoenix, Dallas, Los Angeles, Washington DC, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Detroit, Charlotte, Minneapolis and St. Louis, operations in 45 states, and more than 300 nurses onboarded.
  • Promoted to Vice President of Marketing at TuneCore in September 2021, reporting to chief executive Andreea Gleeson, having previously been Senior Director of Client Marketing.
  • Credited by Music Business Worldwide as the architect of TuneCore Rewards, the TuneCore Certified digital awards and the TuneCore Artwork Creator.
  • Held marketing and revenue leadership at Life House, the hospitality technology and hotel startup, as Senior Director of Marketing and then Vice President of Revenue.
  • Co-authored “Hyperinflation in the General Government: German-Occupied Poland During World War II” in World Economics with Steve H. Hanke and Joanna Gawlik.

Professional Journey

Krus took a bachelor’s degree in economics at The Johns Hopkins University and stayed on as a research associate at its Institute for Applied Economics, Global Health, and the Study of Business Enterprise, where he became Professor Steve H. Hanke’s chief research assistant. The work produced a co-authored study of hyperinflation in the General Government, the German-occupied zone of Poland during the Second World War, published in World Economics with Hanke and Joanna Gawlik.

He moved from academic economics into marketing, joining TuneCore - the Believe-owned distributor that puts independent artists’ music onto streaming services - as Director of Marketing and Analytics. He left for Life House, the hospitality startup, as Senior Director of Marketing and then Vice President of Revenue, before returning to TuneCore as Senior Director of Client Marketing and, in September 2021, being promoted to Vice President of Marketing under chief executive Andreea Gleeson. In announcing the promotion Gleeson described him as “that rare individual who is actively right and left brained”, able to analyse data and then produce creative marketing work; his named contributions include the TuneCore Rewards programme, the TuneCore Certified digital awards and the Artwork Creator. He then spent a period as Vice President of New Ventures at the digital health company Elemy.

In 2023 he co-founded June Skin with Alena Huberts. The premise is that medical aesthetics does not need a clinic: a licensed nurse, working under clinical oversight, can deliver most non-surgical treatments in a client’s home, and the constraint is not demand but supply of trained, compliant practitioners. June Skin’s answer is a two-sided platform - a booking experience for clients, and a training, certification and brand for nurses - with an affiliated medical group providing the clinical structure and a named medical director.

In May 2025 the company announced its largest expansion to date, opening fourteen training and compliance studios in major metropolitan areas where nurses are onboarded, trained and certified to work under the June Skin brand, and reporting operations across 45 states with more than 300 nurses signed up. Krus framed the thesis in the announcement: “Patients today want convenience, transparency, and expertise - and nurses want flexibility and ownership. We are creating a future where high-quality aesthetic care is not tied to expensive clinics, but delivered wherever patients are, with safety and standards.”
