Executive Summary

Naveen Chopra is Chief Financial Officer of Roblox Corporation (NYSE: RBLX), the online platform and game-creation system, a post he took up on 30 June 2025. He is one of the more heavily travelled public-company finance chiefs in media and technology, having held the CFO seat at four listed or near-listed businesses before Roblox: TiVo, Pandora Media, Amazon’s worldwide Devices and Services division, and Paramount Global, where as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2020 to 2025 he steered the balance sheet through the industry’s costly pivot from cable and broadcast to streaming. His background is an unusual hybrid for a CFO, combining a Stanford degree in computer science and economics with a Stanford M.B.A., and his operating experience sits at the intersection of consumer hardware, subscription media and platform economics. Alongside the Roblox role he serves on the board of Macy’s, Inc., where he sits on both the audit and finance committees.

Career Highlights

  • Appointed Chief Financial Officer of Roblox Corporation effective 30 June 2025; the appointment was announced on 9 June 2025 and disclosed to the SEC on Form 8-K.
  • Files Forms 4 with the SEC as a Roblox officer under the title Chief Financial Officer, most recently for a transaction dated 20 August 2026, which places him in the role into the second half of 2026.
  • Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Paramount Global from 2020 to 2025, through the company’s transition from legacy media to streaming; Roblox’s announcement said the direct-to-consumer businesses he helped build grew to more than 25 per cent of company revenue.
  • Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Devices and Services Worldwide at Amazon.com, Inc. from 2019 to 2020, covering Alexa, Fire TV, Ring, Kindle and the Project Kuiper satellite programme.
  • Chief Financial Officer of Pandora Media and, earlier, of TiVo Corporation.
  • Director of Macy’s, Inc. since 2023, serving on the audit and finance committees and renominated in the proxy statement filed 31 March 2026.
  • Former director of Vonage Holdings Corp., the cloud-communications company acquired by Ericsson in 2022; Macy’s proxy records that Vonage stock rose close to 200 per cent during his tenure on that board.
  • Brings more than twenty-five years in media and technology and more than ten years as a public-company CFO, by Roblox’s own account at the time of his hire.

Professional Journey

Chopra’s finance career has tracked the successive disruptions of the media business, moving each time to the company facing the next transition. He served as Chief Financial Officer of TiVo Corporation, the digital video recorder pioneer whose business model was being remade by on-demand streaming, and then as CFO of Pandora Media, the internet radio service competing for subscription audio against far larger platforms. Both were businesses where the finance function’s central problem was funding a technology platform whose content costs were set by others.

In 2019 he moved to Amazon.com as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Devices and Services Worldwide. The remit covered a portfolio of consumer hardware and services with very different economics from software: Alexa and the Echo line, Fire TV, the Ring home-security business, Kindle, and the early build-out of Project Kuiper, Amazon’s low-earth-orbit satellite broadband programme. It gave him hardware cost structures, capital programmes and consumer subscription revenue in a single job.

He left Amazon in 2020 for Paramount Global, where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer until 2025. The tenure coincided with the hardest years of the legacy-media transition: the company was simultaneously supporting a declining linear television business, funding the losses of a scaled streaming build-out, and managing leverage through an industry-wide re-rating. Roblox’s announcement of his hire credited him with driving that transition, and noted that the direct-to-consumer businesses had come to account for more than a quarter of Paramount’s revenue. His departure in 2025 coincided with Paramount’s combination with Skydance, and his EDGAR filing history records a Form 144 against Paramount Skydance in August 2025 disposing of legacy holdings.

Roblox announced his appointment as Chief Financial Officer on 9 June 2025, effective 30 June. The company sits at a different point in the same problem space: a platform business with an enormous young user base, a creator economy that pays out a share of bookings, and heavy infrastructure and safety costs, where the finance question is converting engagement into durable margin. He filed his Form 3 as a Roblox insider in July 2025 and has filed Forms 4 as Chief Financial Officer since, the most recent covering a transaction on 20 August 2026.

Outside his executive roles he has built a second-line record as a public-company director. He joined the board of Macy’s, Inc. in 2023 and serves on its audit and finance committees, a natural fit for a sitting CFO and one that places him inside a department-store business running its own structural transition. He had earlier served on the board of Vonage Holdings Corp., the cloud-communications company that Ericsson acquired in 2022.
