Mayank Kukreja co-founded ITILITE in 2017 with Anish Khadiya and serves as its chief executive. The two met as McKinsey consultants, each spending roughly 200 nights a year on the road, and built a corporate travel and expense platform around the problem they had lived with: business travel booked through a travel desk is slow for the traveller and expensive for the employer at the same time.

Executive Summary

Mayank Kukreja is co-founder and chief executive of ITILITE, a corporate travel, expense and card-management platform he started in 2017 with Anish Khadiya. Both founders came out of McKinsey & Company, where each spent something close to 200 nights a year in hotels, and the company is a direct answer to that experience. The conventional corporate travel desk, they argued, manages to be simultaneously slow and irritating for the employee booking a trip and expensive for the employer paying for it, because the two goals are handled by different systems with different incentives. ITILITE puts booking, expense capture and spend policy in one place, so that a traveller choosing a cheaper option is doing so inside the same interface that records it. The company is backed by Tiger Global, Matrix Partners, Greenoaks Capital and VY Capital, and has been named a Leader in travel and expense by the software review site G2 for five consecutive years.

Career Highlights

  • Co-founder and CEO of ITILITE, founded 2017 with Anish Khadiya, who is now the company’s Chief Business Officer.
  • Raised a 13 million dollar Series B led by Greenoaks Capital and VY Capital with Matrix Partners India participating; the company has since raised a Series C, taking reported total funding to roughly 47 million dollars across four rounds.
  • ITILITE named a Leader in Travel and Expense by G2 for five consecutive years, including Winter 2026 in both the enterprise and small-business categories.
  • Previously Director of Strategy and Planning at Myntra, the Indian fashion e-commerce company.
  • Senior Consultant at McKinsey & Company, the engagement pattern that produced the idea for ITILITE.
  • Began his career in engineering at Lime Labs, which he credits with first drawing him toward starting a company.

Professional Journey

Kukreja’s first job, as a senior engineer at Lime Labs, is the one he points to as the origin of his interest in building a company rather than working inside one. From there he moved into management consulting at McKinsey & Company as a senior consultant — a role that placed him on client sites for roughly 200 days a year and gave him two things at once: personal, repetitive exposure to how bad corporate travel booking is for the traveller, and professional exposure, through cost-control engagements, to how badly companies manage the same spend from the other side of the ledger.

He then joined Myntra, the Indian fashion e-commerce business, as Director of Strategy and Planning. The remit there was wider than the title suggests, covering strategy, operations, sales, product development and pricing. It was an operating rather than advisory role, and it is the last position he held before founding ITILITE in 2017.

ITILITE was founded with Anish Khadiya, a fellow McKinsey alumnus, on a shared diagnosis: business travel had not been streamlined to the point of being a good experience, and the technology to do so plainly existed. The product combines travel booking, expense management and corporate cards, with the commercial argument that putting the three together lets an employer reduce spend without policing employees, because the cheaper choice is surfaced at the moment of booking rather than challenged afterwards.

Funding followed in stages. An early Series B of 13 million dollars was led by Greenoaks Capital and VY Capital with Matrix Partners India participating, and the company has since raised a Series C; aggregated reporting puts total funding at roughly 47 million dollars across four rounds from eighteen investors, with Tiger Global among the backers now listed on the company’s own site. ITILITE reports more than 600,000 users, over a million trips booked and access to three million properties and travel options globally. As with most vendor-published usage numbers, these are the company’s own.

Kukreja continues to lead the company as chief executive from Bengaluru, with Khadiya now serving as Chief Business Officer.
